He doesn't get ridiculous fan reactions anymore because the fans are always expecting his "returns"... he makes one each month.

I loved heel Austin. Yeah it did hurt his crowd reactions but had he of still been a full time wrestler right now he would be getting the same reactions as he did in 1998. The WWE crowd just doesn't pop for anything anymore but I guess you can't expect them to. Nothing has that special feel to it anymore.

Austin as a heel in 2001 was utterly glorious. His feud with Kurt Angle is still among my all-time favorites. In my opinion, his work as the cowardly heel was much better than anything he did as the " cool" face.
Then again, I also loved Angle as a face, rather than a heel. I guess I go against popular opinion?

Nah, his character died when he couldn't wrestle anymore. Are you crazy? Austin was pure genius as a heel. Watch these: No, you didn't get what I was saying. I never said he didn't play the cowardly heel character good, he did an awesome job. I just think it ruined him, because after his heel run, he never was the same before he turned heel.
