Well obviously the formation of the nWo springs to mind. Other than that I'm going to say HHH turning on HBK in '02 or when Sting went to the Wolf Pack, that was great, wearing the black and white shirt under his own then taking that off to reveal the red and black then openning up a can of whoop ass, priceless.

Austin at WM 17, Hogan at the 1996 BATB, and I remember being shocked as hell the night after Summer Slam back in 2004 when Evolution turned on Orton.

I never thought Evolution turning on Orton was that shocking. I thought everyone saw it coming as soon as he won the title. If anything, it came out of nowhere because they forced the face turn instead of letting it happen naturally like they did with Batista's face turn. However, I don't think anyone predicted Coach's heel turn in '03. Exactly. I really don't think it was that shocking- I saw it coming the minute Summerslam ended. Anyways, for me it's definitely Undertaker's heel turn in late 2001 where he made J.R. kiss McMahon's ass. That lead to my favorite era of Taker( or anybody for that matter) ever.. |

The most shocking has to go to Hogan, but the ones that stick out in my mind (especially since I've not been watching long enough to remember Bash at the Beach) are Austin at WM17 and Undertaker shoving JR up Vince's ass.

For me it was Bret turning heel in 1997. I just always thought for the rest of his career he'd be face, without a doubt. When he came out and said "If you don't respect me, I don't respect you!" I was just like  Austin at WMx-7 is a close second. |

Hah, all these are heel turns.
So no shocking (well played out) face turns?
I think Steph becoming SD GM and her transformation in that role was amazing for how polar-opposite she already managed to be when she turned heel prior to that.
