Super Mario Galaxy 2 with Alan Wake right there.

ME2 and Alan Wake are currently in the running for me.

Alan Wake, definitely. I've yet to finish Mass Effect 2 so I wouldn't feel right in making that my choice.

On June 14, for those who care, Gears of War 2 will have a 6x XP, Triple-Double the XP.

I started it last night. Played for about an hour. It hardlocked (froze to the point of not being able to use the Guide) right as it was saving, corrupting the file. So I had to start over. I finished the first Saudi Arabia mission (airport bug) and decided I was done right as I got killed near the end of the 2nd one (where you need to get to the helicopter) and their antiquated save system made me start over from 10 minutes before.

The game looks bad. It has pop-in when Unreal Engine 3 games have not had it really since 2008. Movement doesn't feel too great. The shooting sucks. It makes the same mistake Mass Effect 1 and Fallout 3 made, where shots aren't guaranteed to hit because of in-the-background-dice-rolls, except it does it more severely than ME1 and FO3 did. The enemy AI is inconsistent. Either it will spot you from across the map or it let you kill a teammate right in front of his/her eyes. If an alarm goes off, everyone knows EXACTLY where you are, no matter where you go, until your turn off the alarm. The only saving grace is the conversations/story. However, the writing isn't good enough to where I haven't liberally used the fast-forward feature. Also, it seemed that "Professional" is always the best option. This game feels like it should have been released in 2007. Most of the problems would have been acceptable then. However, when Mass Effect 2 came out in January, you can't have an action-third-person-shooter-RPG come out that is of this quality.


The worst part of the game is I can see the good game struggling to get out. However, it's buried under so much bad or antiquated game design that it's not worth the effort to dig the good game out.

This is the biggest advantage to using Gamefly for me. I have no attachment to bad games since I did not purchase them. I feel no reason to keep playing if I'm not enjoying myself the entire time. Also, between AP and Dark Void, I now know that a game that gets 3 stars from Jeff Gerstmann is a game I don't want to play.

Just got done with the Transformers Multiplayer demo, was actually alot of fun. Will probably end up buying it if the Campaigns are half as good.
