Even though I have been through Halo about 20 times, it just never gets old. I can't say the same about Halo 2. For me, Halo was just more epic and the battles were alot more fun. Yea same for me. Plus it had the amazing pistol with zoom! The pistol was badass. I remember owning my buddies in multiplayer with it, it also came in handy during the campaign. I also love the assault rifle so I am glad that is back.

Not saying this to start a fight, I just want to hear it from a Halo fan, some one who can tell me that knows the difference.
I've been told that the Halo series is popular mostly for its multi player. I have played both Halo and Halo 2, and I just don't see whats so great about them. yea, it was fun. but I was tired of it in about 20 minutes. I find Warhawk to be an awesome game, and I think Halo and Warhawk are very similar.
So, from a Halo fan, can you guys tell me what it is about Halo that makes it such a giant, immensely popular game?
Really, just looking for an opinion, not looking for a fight.

Halo is immensely popular for 3 reasons
1) A Good (Enough) Story
2) The resurrection of the console shooter and the definition of how online console shooters should be set up (party system, etc.).
3) The monster that cannot be fed that is the hype machine funded by Microsoft.
For me, Halo is the most fun when you're playing with a bunch of friends against people around the world, and the opponents aren't douchebags. Like when you can have a good, competitive match, especially one that comes down to the wire.
Honestly, Halo is just like any game. If you get bored with it, it's not for you. It's all there is to it. It doesn't make it a bad game or a good game, it just makes it a game that's not for you.
It's baffling to me when people (as of right now, you're not lumped in with these people, Venus) get bored with a game and say "omg dis geym sux hau culd ne1 lyk it."

I've still yet to touch a Halo campaign at all.
Sucks for me, I guess. Hopefully multiplayer holds me over until SDvsRAW unless I can find a raping co-op team.

I'm not a huge fan Halo either, but I can see why people love it. I played Halo 1 and 2, they were great games, but it's a series I'm not really into. But I am getting sick of the ads. Yes, Halo3 will be great, do I need 24 hour TV coverage of it? Ummm, no. Enjoy it guys.

Glad to hear I'm not lumped in with those people. I myself am waiting for SKATE on PS3, that's a game I don't think I could ever get bored with. I tried the demo on my friend's 360, and I can't wait for a PS3 demo.
