People keep yelling shortage, shortage, shortage. It's not really a shortage, I mean...it is, since there aren't enough to go around, but I think when people hear shortage they hear "limited quantities" not "grotesquely high demand":
Nintendo DS - 1.53 million Nintendo Wii - 981,000 Xbox 360 - 770,000 PlayStation Portable - 567,000 PlayStation 2 - 496,000 PlayStation 3 - 466,000
That's just November alone. Almost a million people bought a Wii. It's not that they don't exist, if you want one bad enough, you can easily get one.

Luckily I bought one like a couple of months ago, not meaning to rub it in or anything.

I walked into Wal-Mart this summer and they had one sitting there, I didn't have enough cash on me at the time, so I passed up on it.
I went back about three hours later with the cash and it was still there, so I got it.
Since that time, I've seen three at Wal-Mart, but thats all.
It's all about being in the right place at the right time.

I don't know if this site still works but I got my wii by searching when and where it was going to be available using www.ps3seeker.com/wii. I still remember the day when I got my wii Jan 21. The site said the wii will be in stock in almost all the stores on jan 21. So I woke up early and stood in a line about a half an hour before target opened. surely enough, the site was right. I got number 12 out of the 28 that were in stock. all thanks to that site. they probably won't drop the price for another 3 years, I assume
