Still haven't seen Frozen, everyone I know that has seen it loved it. Definitely seeing Hatchet 2 on October 1st. Anyone in Southern California going to Creation Entertainment's Weekend of Horrors in October? We'll be premiering our first feature film The Black Box that weekend at the New Beverly Cinema. Teaser Trailer: www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1349495630454Lots of cool horror stuff coming up in the next few months, but that's always September/October. Do I know you?

I've got a few mates expecting it to be scary/jumpy and while there is a fair amount of tension, they said afterwards that it was crapand cheesy, but that's sort of the reason I liked it so much, it ticked every box in being entertaining. Also, it could make a WICKED drinking game hahaha

Since Summer is winding down , I'm thinking about having a Summer/camp related movie marathon. 10 movies, about 16 hours or so..any suggestion outside of the norm of Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp?

Indeed it is! In the meantime, Hatchet II is coming out to AMC theaters, UNRATED. Yes, it will be in major theatrical release unrated, the first horror movie to do so since George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead did so in 1979 based on strong word of mouth and critical praise.
What's interesting about this is major theater chains have a deal that they won't exhibit films that haven't been rated by the MPAA. So I don't know if AMC's terms on the deal were over, and now they can do what they want, or they just don't care, but it will come out unrated. I'm stoked, and if there's an AMC near you, be sure to go see Hatchet II in theaters! Even if you hated Hatchet and don't want to watch it, buy a ticket! Show that you don't want censored horror, that you want the freedom to choose for yourself!
I'm really excited, I plan on seeing it a few times.

So I kicked off my "Halloween Movie Watching Season" with Rob Zombie's Halloween last night. It was only the 4th time I've seen it, and the first time in over two years that I've watched it. I have to say, it was 100x's better than I remembered it being.
Zombie is actually a very good film maker. The dialogue was over all really good, some of the cursing got excessive, but I actually do believe a large part of our population does talk like that. The interaction between Laurie and her parents seemed very natural and was well done. I also really enjoyed Laurie's interaction with Tommy and Lindsey.
The Smith's Grove scenes are my favorite in the movie. Zombie could have made two movies instead of one and had an entire film focus on young Michael's time there.
The only real draw backs to the movie were the very long beginning. I know we need to see how Michael is crapon by everyone in order to understand this version of him, but it was just too much white trash nonsense for one movie. The other scene that doesn't fit in is the rape scene at Smith's Grove. Having seen the theatrical version first, the patient transfer scene fit the movie more and actually made a lot more sense. But as someone has said, Zombie seems to have a thing for humiliating women.
Over all though, great movie.
8/10.

I felt bad when I missed Adam Greens last film in theaters. Frozen. God I STILL cant wait for the Blu release of that. I hope I dont end up overhyping it.

I can almost gurentee that it would only get an R rating if it was rated anyway. Actually, they gave it an NC-17, so he made a minute worth of cuts. They still gave it an NC-17, so he decided to forgo the rating altogether. And I've learned more, apparently AMC has a deal that NC-17 films can only go into a certain number of theaters, usually not major chains. Apparently there is no deal on Unrated films, distributors are just terrified to release them. I Spit on Your Grave (remake) is coming out unrated too, and I guess the entire Steig Larssen trilogy was released unrated as well, just got very limited releases.

The only AMC theater around me is about an hour away, if they manage to screen Hatchet II there I'll make the drive.

Really Rant? Theres like 10 AMC theaters in every city near me. Its the most popular theater chain in MN. I prefer more local ones though.

October should be a great month for horror. I already took off from work to see Hatchet II right away October 1st. The closest AMC theatre is only an hour away.

My closest AMC is only 30 minutes away. I'll definitely be there for Hatchet II.
