Yeah, we really need scary Freddy back. I thought he was quite scary in 'Freddy Vs. Jason' "I can't come back if nobody remembers me, i can't come back if nobodys afraid!"

What's all this hate for joke cracking Freddy? That's the Freddy I know and love!

I agree, that's what seperated Freddy from the rest of the slashers. He'll still kill you, but damned if there won't be a punchline before or after he does.

Old Freddy was great... but I think only Robert Englund could pull off that kind of Freddy... hopefully the re-imagined version is a flat out killer with no silly jokes, etc. They need to make this film flat out SCARY... not silly in any way.

Ya I do agree that maybe the wise cracking Freddy should be reserved for Englund. Would be kinda odd seeing Haley try and pull off the same type stuff. But from what I understand this is gonna be a darker and more serious Freddy so I don't think we'll have to worry about that anyway.

Personally, I love part 3-5, but Freddy was at his best in the first movie.

I heard Englund's gonna have a small cameo as Teddy Krueger, Fred's used car salesman brother

Don't get me wrong. I love the wise cracking Freddy as much as any other character. I just don't think that's the way to go with the new version.

Wait, maybe I'm outta the loop here but why didn't Englund take the new Freddy role?

I don't believe he was offered it.

If Englund was brought on it'd just be another sequel, not a remake. They wanted to go with a remake, thus, no Englund. I love Englund more than the next guy and as much as i'd love to see him back in the role, it would be utterly pointless to remake the flick with him as Freddy.

Nope. Any good?
I always loved Freddy cracking jokes. Made him unique.
I saw Orphan last night...I was wanting NOT to like it but man it turned out AWESOME. Very good story and some gore. Was just an all around awesome horror movie. A true gem of the year considering 2009 hasnt been the nicest to horror.
