For those interested it looks like Patrick Lussier, the director of My Bloody Valentine 3D is in talks with the Weinstein's to write and direct Halloween 3D. As part of a story on the future of the Weinstein Company, and Bob Weinstein's genre division Dimension Films, Variety reports that My Bloody Valentine 3D director Patrick Lussier is in talks to write and direct the recently-announced Halloween 3D with plans to have it ready for a summer 2010 release. Dimension have also tapped Ehren Kruger (The Ring) to adapt Stephen King's short story Children of the Corn into a new movie. The story of a boy preacher who persuades the kids of a Nebraska town to kill all the adults was previously turned into a movie in 1984, and that went on to spawn six sequels. Here's the link; www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=58891I know some people aren't a fan of the Halloween franchise continuing, but I love the franchise and although it's had it's ups & downs, I'm still really looking forward to how H3D will turn out. Also, for those of you who have seen My Bloody Valintine 3D, is it any good? It looked like a decent slasher in the trailers but I haven't gotten around to see it yet.

Though I disliked Halloween II, I'm all for the notion of the series staying alive. They'll be making these movies long after we're gone.

Halloween is less than 2 months away!! Can you believe it?! Durden is back, baby! Yeah, I know, you probably get tired of people doing posts like this whenever you post something, but it's become a habit for me. My daughter and I were planning how we'll decorate our yard in a few weeks. It's our first Halloween at this house, so we're both ultra pumped!

I just watched "Hausu", and frankly...it was amazing.
I personally can't wait for Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, Amazon, Deep Discount, etc to start the horror movie sales. I plan on going insane this year...even have money saved up.

Got around to watching H2 last night, words can not express just how awful I thought it was. I went into it with incredibly low expectations, and was still let down. When the high point of your movie is Weird Al saying "Oh snap" you know that you've ed up. Brad Dourif did kick some ass though, I'd love to see him get a role in a good film that he can sink his teeth into.

It looks like X-Entertainment has started his Halloween Countdown again...well kinda. That countdown used to be one of the highlights of my Halloween season, now it's just a reason for me to bitch on here. Anyway, one great thing comes out of it every year: www.x-entertainment.com/2009halloweenjukebox.htmlThe Halloween Jukebox! Song 30 may be of special interest to Sucka.

Yeah, so I'm doing another post that isn't horror related, but it's Halloween related, so there!
I started buying my tombstones today. I only bought 4 so far, but I figure I'll need at least 10. I wanted to put them out tonight, but thought my new neighbors would think I'm crazy. Instead I just hung up my new pumpkin welcome sign on our door.
I passed the Halloween spirit on to my daughter very successfully, as she wanted and got a "Build your own skeleton" kit tonight also. Guess what we're doing when she gets home from school tomorrow?
Oh, and what better place than the horror thread to celebrate post six thousand and 666!
