Some of you guys that are into Halloween should checkout www.halloweenforum.com there's a really great do it yourself section, the people on there build everything from coffins to small animatronic zombies. Just got through watching Antichrist and I'm honestly a little underwhelmed. I've heard a lot of great stuff about this film, how it's very disturbing and well made. I've gotta say, it definitely had the creepy atmosphere down, but at times I felt as if the director was trying too hard to make something different or make something seem "artsy." I also felt that a few of the more..."Explicit" sex scenes weren't really necessary, the one at the beginning just sort of took me out of the movie. There's definitely some symbolism thrown in there, but I think it's all pointless when the story (my opinion of coarse) falls flat. As I said earlier it had the atmosphere down, it was a very beautiful movie, great colors, awesome set pieces. Dafoe gives a great performance as well. But in the end as much as I wanted to, I just couldn't get into it. Definitely worth checking out though.

I wasn't living here last year, so I have no idea how many kids will come by, how decorated it will be, etc. I know there's 1 little one at the end of the street and two next door, but other than that I think it's just my kids.
I finally got around to watching the first episode of Vampire Diaries and it was way better than I expected. I'm curious to see where the show takes us. Plus the lead actress is freakin hot!

Haha. I just checked out the IMBD boards for the film, then I remembered why I hate those boards so much.

I did a little reorganizing in my horror room. It's Halloween all year long in that room! I used to have a room like that! Actually, my entire basement was like that about 4 years ago. I was looking at a lot of my old horror stuff today and trying to figure out a way to set it all back up. I've joked with my wife that I'm setting up shelves and a tv/dvd in our shed so I can sneak out there and watch horror movies uninterupted, all while surround by my horror merch. She didn't laugh....so I guess that means "No".

Splinter (2008) Directed by Toby Wilkins A delightfully gross and original little horror set nearly entirely in a gas station. The effects and gore are so impressive for something so small, and the fear factor is there. In short it's a poor man's The Thing. 6/10

Anyone have Durden's original CastleFreak review from the first post EVER in this thread? Looking back 4 years, I'd really like to read it again.

Damn you, glitch!
I bought Monster Squad last year. I plan on watching it again soon. It didn't hold up to my childhood memories, but neither did The Gate.

I remember the old VHS I had it taped on. I wanna say it was sandwiched between Peewee's Big Adventure and Teen Wolf 2. It was crazy watching it for the first time in like 14 years though, I didn't remember much about it but as the movie progressed everything was so familiar. I've read the Blu-ray is going to be a great upgrade.

One of the few things I remembered about it was the old man telling the kids, "I know about monsters" and then seeing the tattoo on his arm.
