Lemme say as a HUGE fan of UFC/MMA....
Hiring Abercrombie & Fitch models to play "badass street fighters" wasn't exactly the best choice of casting for one of the first recent MMA-ish movies
Is anyone intrested in this movie?

This seems like the Step Up that follows the renegade teen with something to prove. So they do it through underground fighting or dancing.

I am going to an advanced screening on Tuesday. It does look pretty cheesy (a bunch of good looking rich kids fighting in mansions for chicks), but I've been pretty "stoked" to see this movie since I first saw the preview.
It'll probably end up being my guilty pleasure of '08.

I saw this movie about a week ago. And let me tell you if you have seen the Karate Kid you will be let down alot. This is the REMAKE of it. Honestly just modernized. If you have not seen the Karate Kid than you will like it.

I think this movie is a horrible way to begin what I feel will only be the beginning of the media d***riding the popularity of MMA with movies and tv shows.
Looks so cheesy and you can watch the previews and already know what is going to happen.
The movie I am a tad bit interested in seeing is the one with Randy Couture. I believe it was called Red Belt? Didn't look half-bad.

Liked it better when it was called "Karate Kid."

I find it hilarious that all the fighters are skinny, as you said, Hollister or Abercrombie models. Nothing against them, but they do not belong in a movie about fighting.

They could have made a lot more money by actually marketing it as a movie about fighting. That market is huge right now.

Volchok > All. well, except for Ryan Atwood. I wondered how long it was going to take for someone to make that reference. The funny thing is the guy that played Volchok is named Ryan in the movie.
