For a few years I've been writing scripts and sending them to different movie companies trying to sell them, with very little luck. I've sold one, but nothing has come of it yet. Anywho, I heard back from a studio (who I can't name due to legal issues) who are planning on doing a remake of the Breakfast Club. They've asked a few different people to write a script for the remake. The reason they do this is mainly to figure different directions they can take the movie more then find someone to write the movie itself. They usually take all the scripts given them to the credited writer and have him use them as a launching point. To make a long story short I've been asked to make a script for a breakfast club remake along with about 4 other people. I haven't said yes or no yet, because this is something huge in my eyes. The original was so brilliant, I hate to see a remake being done. I think i will do it though, mainly to get my name out there to different companies.
My main point in this thread is wondering if you guys would like to read the character outline and the story outline after i get it finished, and if you guys would be willing to give feedback on what you like and don't like about my outline. Thanks.

I am in no way, shape or form, even remotely interested in a remake for The Breakfast Club.

As i stated in another post I hate that they are remaking it, but, I don't mind the extra change they are offering.

The funny thing is that the original cast would all reprise their roles since they haven't done anything since The Breakfast Club.

Emilio also did Maximum Overdrive, Young Guns and Bobby. Judd did: Cabin By The Lake, Jay and Silent Bo SB, New Jack City, and has 7 projects coming out within the year.

Don't slip on the cereal. The Breakfast Club was an awesome film, if the guy wants you to write a script for a remake I suggest you make the script awesome, so as to not get totally shat on for ruining the original, which I'm sure you won't.

Let it be a remake with a Youth member of the Crips, an Asian nerd, a gay emo, a white trash hillbilly that is quarter back of the 3rd division football team and a pregnant 14 year old prostitute with 2 kids. Make the principal a fat guy that walks around with a KFC bucket and greasy hands. It'll bring in alot of crowds with cultural diversity like the rest of todays films.

It would be a shame if they remade that movie. But being a huge horror fan, I've come to accept that there's nothing you can do about movies being remade.

I have little to worry about since most likely I wont be the final writer, just someone they steal ideas from.

The only thing you'd have to change is make it after school detention, because I don t think they do weekend detention anymore, I'm not even sure if they do after school detention anymore
