Page '68-'80 kicks Clapton '77-'86's ass in terms of playing. However, Clapton '65-'74 schools anything Pagey ever did.
We need a top 10 Rhythm guitarists thread sometime.

1. Jimi Hendrix 2. Duane Allman 3. Eddie Van Halen 4. Buckethead 5. Eric Clapton 6. Dimebag Darrell 7. Keith Richards 8. Jimmy Page 9. Tony Iommi 10. Kirk Hammet And to the guy who said Page was a better guitarist then Clapton, no. Just no. Yes. Just Yes. SRV was a better guitarist than Clapton and Page is better than SRV so it makes complete sense. Not to say Clapton isn't good. I like Clapton a lot.

How can you really compare SRV to Jimmy Page? I mean, they played completely different music... yeah, I was just thinking about that after I typed it. But Page can play any style of music and do it great. I do however list Pride and Joy as a top 10 song of all time.

*sigh* another prick on this forum... I can't wait till you tell me why my musical taste is any concern of yours ? Because you make me giggle with you Pink Floyd fan boyness Congratulations, according to your profile you're in your 30's, yet you can't even construct a sentence that makes sense. Also, I'm not too sure that I'll grow out of my taste in music. Since I was born I've had music like Pink Floyd and Zeppelin being played constantly from the rest of my family, especially my dad. I've not become fed up with it being constantly played so far, so I don't think I'm going to get fed up any time soon. I mean, whats the problem? Is it because I wasn't alive during the time that Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and others were at there height? Big deal, I've watched films and read books that are older than me and I'm sure that, unless your stupid or illiterate, you have too, but that wouldn't mean me or you were 'fan-boys' or 'going through a phase' Also, seeing as your in this thread, how about you post your top ten guitarists?

Plus you can't argue that Gilmour is a great guitarist. 1. David Gilmour 2. Jimmy Page 3. Jimi Hendrix 4. Eric Clapton 5. Kurt Cobain(Yeah I enjoy the music)
