Kennebunk, Maine's Pinkerton Thugs will reunite to play some shows in early 2008. The band, which split in 2000, had members go on to play in bands like the Unseen, Micah Blue Smaldone, the Strings and Ironside. Paul Russo commented on the band's MySpace page:
Hey guys, just to let everyone know The Pinkerton Thugs will be playing shows again! I live in Boston again and we've been in the basement practicing and having a lot of fun playing music as a band again. I cannot express how much this means to me. The Thugs are something I take SO much pride in and believe in 1000%. We want to bring back the unity, message, anger, and love to the street again, where it belongs. But most of all we want everyone to have FUN. Over the years, a lot of people have enthusiastically asked us play shows again, but I can tell you no one is more excited than we are. I know I speak for the rest of the guys when I say that we are doing this because we /want/ to. The Thugs always did what we want and people always seemed to give us the room to do so. So anyway, leave us a comment, we'd love to hear from you, and see you at the shows!
I've got the dates for these shows, and I'm trying like the dickens to get my band on one of them.

EEEEE **** I HOPE THEY RECORD AGAIN!!!! If you do play with them, request Numbers for me! "It's time for you to meet the other me, the one who wants you dead, I'll punch in your numbers and I'll print a receipt, and then I'll bash in your head..." Check it, the back of my denim vest, my two favorite bands:

Paul is back on the East Coast, and is super jazzed about playing out again, both with the PThugs and with Americana Romantic. No Micah this time around, but I guess that's about how it was for their last two years.
