Read a book, read a book, read a mother ing book. Apparently I was the stupid one to assume that there was at least one person on this board that cared about Terry Pratchett, seeing as he's a fairly famous author.

I thought this read "Terry Hatcher diagnosed..."
Then I clicked the link and was gravely disappointed.

I've read the book, The Carpet People by him.
Always sad to see someone diagnosed with something bad...

I was an English major in college and frankly Ive never heard of him, so your assumption is wrong. No need to flip out.

Damn that really sucks. I haven't anything else by him except Good Omens with Neil Gaiman. Great book though.

He writes the Discworld books... if you walk into a book store any where in the world, you are chance to see his latest book displayed quite prominently.

Read a book, read a book, read a mother ing book. Apparently I was the stupid one to assume that there was at least one person on this board that cared about Terry Pratchett, seeing as he's a fairly famous author. 1) Terrible news. Sorry to hear about anyone getting this disease. 2) I haven't heard of this author either, but for you to assume I don't read "mother ing books" is kind of insulting. I have a college degree in English and am an avid reader. The reason I have never heard of this author is because he is apparently a fantasy writer. I don't give a crap about fantasy books, so I have never heard of him. Does that make me illiterate? No. I just prefer other forms of writing, that's all. No need to go trashing everyone just because we all didn't rush to share our favorite memories of Pratchett's career. And again... terrible news. I've had relatives with Alzheimer's and it is an awful disease.

I must apologize, I meant to put quotes around the "mother ing book" line thus changing the tone of how I was using it. I was only making a reference than actually accusing. I'm still stand by my sarcastic statement though.
