Today marks the fifth year anniversary of Joe Strummer's death. Last night I went to a show in Boston, and all the bands were in full on Joe Strummer mode. If you're unfamiliar with any of his work outside of The Clash, I highly reccommend his work with the Mescaleros. Global A-Go-Go is a top notch album, start to finish. Also, check out his duet with Johnny Cash, covering Bob Marley's "Redemption Song". "How long shall they kill our prophets..."

Damn, I can't believe its been 5 years already. I really want to see the movie they made about him, but something tells me I'll have to wait till it hits DVD.

I just saw a documentry about his last album on Hellcat with the Mesqs. and his last days, ive always been a giant fan of the Clash and Joe Strummer's music in general and this documentry really showed a person who is iconic as Joe Strummer, is still trying to make a living through music before his death.
RIP Joe Stummer and the only band that matters

RIP I loved the raw sound of his telecaster.
