well, this place inthe city is pretty new. only aobut 6 months old. i was really hyped up to see the mars volta and let me tell you, they delivered. playing over 2 hours of music. just the one downpart of the show was that the sound was really loud. i mean, my ears are still ringing. but, as a drummer, this new guy they got, thomas pridgen is pretty damn impressive. he fits in well with the group and is pretty fun to watch. i found myself watching him most the night. all in all, i would see them again but i just have one question to ask, is there sound system always really really loud or was it just the venue?

Yeah the new drummer is awesome. While John Theodore had solid beats that were technically good but never changed it up too much (which isn't a bad thing by any means with Omar and Ikey going all over the place) Pridgen is really bombastic and all over the place. I also found it mesmorizing when i saw them. Can't wait for their new album, i really want to hear what he sounds like on a recording.
