I don't want a Cloverfield sequel, but I'll still see it.

It would have to be done differently if they want it to be good. Something like a person was doing a documentary about a branch of the National Guard and then all hell breaks loose. If they try to re-create the first one completely it will make some money at the box office but no one will honestly give a crap.
I hope to god Paramount does not turn this into the new "Saw" franchise and churn one out a year to capitalize on the hype of the first one.

I thought itd be a cool idea, to start with some other dude filming The bridge collapse on Beth and Rob, and then have him trying to survive, learning more about the monster.

Maybe if we're "lucky" it'll take the Blair Witch route for it's sequel..........

If they don't try and build off the Rob and Beth story, and focus more on the origins of the monster, it won't really ruin the first one, because the first one was about the friends surviving, this one will be from a different POV

I don't want a Cloverfield sequel, but I'll still see it. Thats how I feel. I think it could potentially ruin the first one, but at the same time, I loved the first one so much that I couldn't stay away if I tried.

Well, i think a sequel would ruin the original, but again, i'd watch it.
Cloverfield has that "Donnie Darko" quality, where you pretty much come up with your own conclusion of what exactley happened in the movie, and because of questions that go unanswered.
But, it seems that too many people are worried about what exactley the Cloverfield beast is, that they had to make a sequel, with the kinf od dough they are problay tossing at him after Cloverfield did so well, i wonder what anyone else would do in his position.
Also, i bet they show alternate angles and scenes of the monster, in between trying to figure out what it is.
