Recap by Brian Thomas
TheDailySuplex.com
A TNA staffer welcomed us to the call and ran down the card for this month's Victory Road PPV. He then introduced Traci who said she was getting ready to beat Gail Kim this Sunday.
Traci asked if she preferred wrestling or managing more. Traci said she learns so much managing and how important that job is, but she started as a wrestler and trained as a wrestler but loves to get in the ring and mix it up.
She talked about their match this Sunday saying that it is going to be a very good, entertaining and viscous.
She was asked about her views on how the women are being used now compared to a year ago. She said that she thinks things are going over very well and they made fans wait long enough for a women's division. She hopes that once they get two hours there will be more women's wrestling.
Who has been more fun to work with, Dusty, Matt or Roode. She stated that Dusty was a legend and Matt Bentley and her had the longest on screen relationship, but she thinks her and Roode click well together well and he even scares her in the ring when he yells at her. She chooses Roode as her favorite.
She loves seeing TNA grow and her heart is with TNA and she believes in them. She likes that they are a small company and it feels like a family because everyone knows everyone else.
She has never been on the receiving end of a Steiner recliner yet.
She is preparing for her match by watching a lot of Gail Kim tapes from when they trained together.
She said that there will be a Traci Brooks action figure later this year. It will be coming out in pieces, i.e. an arm and a leg will come with one figure, torso in another, and breasts another.
She stated that she would like to see more women brought into the company when there is more time on TV. She stated that will the same three girls you can't have a match every week because it would be the same match each week. She also said that all the girls they have are "wrestlers" and not bra and panties girls.
Asked about a women's title belt, Traci said they need more time to develop characters, moves, finishers and things like that. She thinks the next belt would be a mid-level belt for TNA.
Asked who she would like to see brought in, she would love to see Nidia, ODB, Nora (Molly Holly), Lacey (ROH), and many more.
Asked about character development in the women's division, she said it has been very good and she feels that everyone is given a different type of character. You know which one each of the women are and what their role on the show is.
The difference between wrestling in the USA and Mexico, Traci stated it was scary down there, but she loved it. She had gum in her hair, a battery thrown at her, beer poured in her mouth, she was bleeding, and she had her clothes ripped off when thrown into the crowd. Mexico treats the sport like football is treated in the US. She says it was crazy, but she loved it.
Asked if there were any females in Mexico that would be good for TNA, she recommended Tiffany as a girl she would like to see up in the states.
Confronted with her movie appearances and asked if she would do any more movies, she said it was one of those things that came up due to her being a wrestler, but she is a wrestler. She doesn't want to get into acting unless it helps her in her wrestling career. She hates being asked what she is going to do after wrestling. She got into wrestling to wrestle.
Traci says that she doesn't know anything about getting two hours for iMPACT, but she could definitely see it happening. She stated that TNA is working hard to get another hour of time whether it be a two hour show or two one hour shows. She says that TNA keeps proving the doubters wrong and they will continue to do so because she has faith that TNA will keep doing everything right.
Traci believes that dropping the NWA and being just TNA gives them more credibility because it is their own brand now.
Asked about the morale in TNA she says that she finds it hilarious when she reads that the morale is low. She says everyone helps everyone in TNA, people love watching each other's matches. She considers the other wrestlers her brothers, and wonders when the last time the reporters were in the locker room to gauge the morale. She thinks the reporters are jealous, insecure or little 15 year old kids in their basement.
Asked what her worst injury was from the ring, she said that she has never had anything bad happen to her and she has been very lucky.
Asked when she thinks TNA will be ready to be competition for WWE, she said she believes they already are competition. She points to the women's division in WWE now featured women's matches instead of fluff.
Asked who her hero was growing up was Ricky Steamboat. Sherri Martel was another big influence on her.
Asked where she sees TNA in the next five years she stated she sees them as direct competition, head-to-head with the WWE.
Asked if she sees a difference with the fans in traveling around the country for the road PPVs, Traci says the fans are awesome and that Orlando is always hotter when they come back after a road show.
Traci thinks that Christian Cage is probably the most exciting wrestler to watch other than Roode. She also enjoys watching AJ Styles wrestle Joe, Homicide, and Abyss.
Traci talked a little bit about Steiner and how they all wish him a speedy recovery.
With this the call ended.
