Here's where you can pretty much give tips to the new ones to this kind of thing.
* If you're doing old school, do the research. It makes the diary so much better in the end.
* Try to keep everything realistic.
* Try to have some detail. It doesn't need to be a page long, but it would be nice to see more than 'Wrestler A beat Wrestler B with insert finisher here.'
Share your tips and whatnot.

When laying out your diary, I always find it best to have used Bold and Italic more than I think I should have, I know that sounds dumb, but making sure your work is properley readable often helps people enjoy it more.

Instead of just posting the shows, keep readers updated with the latest rumours etc.

This is covered in "realism" but if you're WWE, don't sign someone WWE would never sign so basically anyone that fell out with Vince or the WWE.

Know what you're doing. Don't go for an era you're not familiar with.

Don't do super-indy promotions, they never happen in real life.

Do previews for shows. And book the best matches possible for your biggest show. Because each year, your roster will be a little different.

Use Logo's and Pictures - they often add to the feel of the show, and its always nice to see a Logo at the top of a post, even if its the basic Raw/Smackdown (Or whatever is in reference to your diary) Every little helps

A Guide to posting replies -
The "Wrestling Sims" section relies on people replying; and most people do reply, yet, most replies these days seem to be something quick and easy, to ensure someone replies to yours. People appreciate feedback on their work; and if that feedback isn't good enough, people are going to have less of an urge to update, and that just results in low activity for the board. Sooo, here is a simple and easy to use guide for those of you that don't know what to say when your replying sometimes.
This isn't a "Rule" of the board of anything, and you do not have to use this, I just thought it would be helpful to those of you that have problems with your replies.
==========================
I believe a reply consists of 3 things; Feedback, Opinion and Critisism. A healthy combination of the three often results in a reply being viewed as "Substancial" for example;
"This diary is good, keep it going...."
can easy become...
"This diary is really good; Im loving your angle with Jericho and I really like the fact you are pushing London. I don't really like the fact Lashley has held the strap so long, but your doing well."
With the inclusion of some opinion and some "Constructive" critisism, the reply has turned from an "Un-healthy" reply to a "Healthy" reply. Now you may be thinking "Why the hell are you referring to replies as Healthy and Un-healthy?" well. Think of a diary as a human being. It needs energy... Now, Obviously it can't eat or drink, but replies are the energy that Diaries need, without them. A Diary dies. - May seem extremely weird, but it does make sense. You just have to be a wacko like me.
Another thing I seem to be noticing alot of in Replies is "Can you reply to ________ please" - Obviously there is nothing wrong with asking people to reply to your diary, but damn... completely blanking theirs and throwing a link to yours in their face is completely out of order. For example;
"This is good, Reply to 07 plz?"
can easily become....
"This is a superb diary, your pushing the right people and your shows are always logical. If you get a chance, could you reply to 07 please? thanks"
People like politeness, if you don't show them respect, they won't show you respect. And if you leave a reply like "This is good, reply to 07 plz" they simply won't. Why? because you haven't left a "Healthy" reply.
Don't expect your diaries to get replies straight away, alot of the people who are "Veteran" or "longtime" users of this board need to see that you are commmited to your diary and that you won't just give up on it. Once you have laid a firm foundation, you will gain readers, once you have gain readers, Replies will be more and more frequent. Im not having a go, or saying "OMG, I always leave fantastic replies" because I don't. Im often the one perpitrating the things I have said not to do in this post, but I think from now on, if we all try and stick to the three word foundation. Our replies will be more satisfactory, and it will lead to more updates and more will to work.
3 Word Foundation: Feedback, Opinion and Critisism. JN

You could make up a wrestling fed, just give ALOT of background information. Also, will you be using created wrestlers? Or Wrestlers from WWE, TNA, ROH etc...
