Ive started this diary on a different board, so I will give you a recap of what has happened up to this point in the game, and my first show posted here will be my May PPV, Retribution.
(This diary starts the night after WrestleMania 12)
The Build-Up to Good Friends, Better Enemies - The night after WrestleMania, Shawn Michaels got a taste of what it was like to be WWF Champion when, after his first interview as champ, he was attacked by former friend Diesel. Diesel knocked HBK unconscious with the WWF Title, and from there the rivalry was on, leading to a WWF Title match between the two at In Your House.
-The Mastadon, Vader, had been running through all comers on Raw, defeating opponent after opponent, leading manager Jim Cornette to claim that "no force on earth" could stop Vader. Perhaps no force on earth, but he said nothing on forces from beyond! The Undertaker took on Vader's open challenge, and battles both physical and mental began, leading the Mastadon and the Phenom on a crash course for IYH.
-Following WrestleMania, an 8-man tournament was held to determine the #1 contedner for the Intercontinental Title. The tournament played out over three weeks on Raw, and in the end it was Ahmed Johnson who defeated Steve Austin in the finals to earn a shot at Goldust and his IC championship at IYH.
-The Ultimate Warrior made a triumphant return at WM 12, but was quickly targeted by Camp Cornette's British Bulldog, who didnt appreciate the fanfare Warrior was receving. After defeating the Bulldog on an episode of Raw, Warrior fell victim to a two on one attack from Bulldog and Owen Hart. Now Warrior and Owen Hart will meet one on one at IYH.
-Marc Mero made his debut at WM 12 as well, saving valet Sable from Hunter Hearst-Helmsley. Hunter didnt take to well to this, and made sure Mero was made to pay for embarrassing him at the biggest event of the year. The Wildman and Helmsley will go one on one at IYH to settle this score.
-The Body Donnas are the reigning Tag Team Champions, but will have to make their first title defense against a formidable team in the Smoking Gunns, who defeated the Godwinns to win a title opportunity.

Good Friends, Better Enemies April 30, 1996WWF Tag Team Title MatchThe Bodydonnas d. The Smoking Gunns-Skip and Zip pulled a "switch" with the referee turned and scored the three count to retain their titles. Owen Hart d. Ultimate Warrior-British Bulldog came down to the ring and distracted the referee, allowing Jim Cornette to retrieve a lead pipe from his jacket and slide it to Owen, who blasted Warrior with it and scored perhaps one of the biggest upsets in WWF history. Intercontinental Title MatchGoldust d. Ahmed Johnson-An interfering Steve Austin dropped Ahmed Johnson throat first on the top rope, allowing Goldust to hit the Curtain Call to retain his title. After the match, Austin hit Ahmed with his new finisher, the Stunner, and left him lying in the ring. Hunter Hearst-Helmsley d. "Wildman" Marc Mero-With both men on the outside, Mero went for a flying attack off the ring steps, but Helmsley threw Sable in front of him, causing Mero to crash into his valet. As Mero called for help, Helmsley gave Mero a Pedigree on the floor, then rolled him in the ring to get the three. Sable was then carried out of the arena on a stretcher. The Undertaker double count-out Vader-The ring couldnt contain these two men. Undertaker and Vader spilled to the outside after Taker attempted to Tombstone the Mastadon, and the two foes battled up the aisle and to the back as the referee counted both men out. WWF Title MatchShawn Michaels d. DieselIn a close match, HBK missed two attempts at Sweet Chin Music, but after ducking a big boot connected with the third try and scored the win to retain the title. Following the bell, Diesel attacked HBK, hitting him with a Jacknife and then blasting him with the WWF Title, leaving the champion unconscious to end the PPV.

I like, I like. Keep it coming, it seemed pretty good. I loved WWF in 96 so this should be great....unless you ruin it ! But I'm sure you won't.

Build-Up to IYH: Retribution -The night following Good Friends, Better Enemies, and after the post match beatdown at the hands of Diesel at the PPV, we saw WWF Champion Shawn Michaels visit the office of WWF President Gorilla Monsoon. By the end of the night, we found out that HBK had asked Monsoon for a rematch with Diesel at Retribution....only this time inside a steel cage!
-It was obvious at GFBE that the squared circle couldnt contain both the Undertaker and Vader. So these two men will meet again at Retribution in a No Disqualification, No Count-Out match.
-The bad blood between Steve Austin and Ahmed Jonhson continued when Austin cost Ahmed his match with Goldust at GFBE. Johnson repaid the favor when he distracted Austin during his IC title match, costing him a win. When a match was set between Austin and Ahmed to determine a number one contender for Retribution, Goldust interjected himself in the match, leading to a no decision. Therefore, Gorilla Monsoon has booked a triple threat match between Goldust, Ahmed Johnson, and Steve Austin for the Intercontinental Title.
-The Ultimate Warrior's feud with Camp Cornette continued after GFBE. Owen Hart, off his big upset win, gloated at every chance he could about beating the Warrior, even having Jim Cornette present him with a trophy and declaring him the 'Ultimate Champion'. After defeating Owen in a rematch on Raw, British Bulldog came down to assist in a two one one attck, and Owen cracked the trophy over Warrior's head, leaving him down and bloodied. Now Warrior takes on both Owen Hart and British Bulldog at Retribution in a two on one handicap match.
-Following GFBE and the accidental injury to Sable, Marc Mero was chomping at the bit to get his hand son Hunter Hearst-Helmsely again. Mero challenged Hunter to a match at Retribtution, but Hunter would only agree on one stipulation. Citing that he felt Sable was unsafe with Mero, Helmsley demanded that Sable herself be put on the line at Retribution. Mero agreed, and now the winner of this match will also win the services of Sable.
-The night after GFBE, the Smoking Gunns recevied a rematch with the Body Donnas for the tag team titles. The Gunns looked to havd the match won when the Godwinns came down and looked to inadvertantly hit Billy with a slop bucket, allowing Skip to get the pin. Following the match, it appeared the Gunns and Godwinns hashed things out, but HOG and PIG then suddenly attacked the Gunns! The next week, while explaining their actions, Henry and Phineas even beat down their now former manager Hillbilly Jim! Now the Gunns have revenge on their minds when they meet the Godwinns in tag team action at Retribution.

Retribution May 21, 1996 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Jim RossThe Smoking Gunns defeated The Godwinns with the SidewinderThe Godwinns new attitude was in full force, displaying a much more aggressive style. After the Gunns started to turn the tide of the match, Phineas came in the ring with the slop bucket and tried to use it on Billy, but Billy ducked the weapon and PIG accidentally struck Henry in the head and sent him to the outside. Bart then scooped up Phineas and he and Billy delivered the Sidewinder for the win. Overall Rating:79 Match Quality: 74 Crowd Reaction: 85Interview with DieselWe now go to the interview area where Todd Pettengill is standing by with Diesel.Todd: I’m standing here with Big Daddy Cool, Diesel, who later on tonight will face Shawn Michaels inside of a steel cage for the WWF Championship. Diesel, your thoughts? Diesel: My thoughts are real simple, little man. Tonight, the uncrowned champion gets crowned. Shawn, everyone saw me pin you to the mat one, two, three Monday on Raw. Everyone knows that I can beat you, but you see tonight is different. Tonight, it wont just be a simple three count. No. Tonight, I’m out to hurt you, Shawn! I’m out to maim you, I’m out to punish you, I’m out to end your career! And you asked for it all, Shawn. You asked for Big Daddy inside of a steel cage, and tonight you got him. You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself in to. And you know, after all of our past history, I almost feel a little remorse that I have to be the one to end your title reign and your “illustrious” career. But hey, if someone has to do it, it might as well be me. You’re looking at the next WWF Champion. Overall Rating: 90Steve Austin defeats Goldust and Ahmed Johnson to become the NEW Intercontinental Champion by pinning Goldust after a StunnerThis was a great triple threat match, with each participant having their share of chances to win. Towards the conclusion of the match, all three men began to brawl on the outside. Austin was tossed aside as Goldust and Johnson went at it. Ahmed threw Goldust back into the ring, but as he got to the apron he was met by Marlena, who blew cigar smoke in Johnson’s face! Goldust then clobbered Ahmed from behind and sent him into the guard rail on the outside. But as Goldust turned back to the ring, he was met with a kick to the gut and then the Stunner from Austin, who then covered the Golden One for the win and the Intercontinental Championship. Overall Rating: 82 Match Quality: 83 Crowd Reaction: 83The Ultimate Warrior defeated Owen Hart and British Bulldog in a handicap match by pinning both Hart and Bulldog following a big splashHart and Bulldog used their numbers advantage to keep Warrior down through most of the match, but the Camp Cornette members couldn’t overcome Warrior’s comeback at the end of the match. Warrior gorilla pressed Bulldog to the mat, then gorilla pressed Owen on top of his brother-in-law, then delivered a running splash onto both men and covered them for the win. Overall Rating: 85 Match Quality: 86 Crowd Reaction: 83 Owen Hart lost overness from this matchInterview with Shawn MichaelsWe now go to Todd Pettengill who is with the WWF Champion. Todd: I’m here with the WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels, and Shawn you heard the comments from Diesel earlier tonight. He is out to not only take your title, but to hurt you and injure you tonight. What are your thought being just minutes from your WWF Title defense? HBK: Diesel, you can make all the threats you want big man. The fact is I asked for this match. I asked to get you inside of a steel cage and end this once and for all. And I know what a steel cage is about, and I know tomorrow morning I might not even be able to get out of bed. But one thing I do know is that tomorrow morning I will still be the WWF Champion. And like I said before, everyone seems to tell me that a steel cage match isn’t my style, just like they said ladder matches and iron man matches weren’t my style, but if you look back at history they turned out pretty well for the Heartbreak Kid! My style is whatever I need it to be in order to keep this belt right here. So tonight, with the Kliq behind me, I will walk in to that cage the champion, and I will walk out still the WWF Champion. Overall Rating: 93“Wildman” Marc Mero defeated Hunter Hearst-Helmsley with the Wildthing to retain the services of SableAt the start of the match, Mero motioned towards the aisle and the previously injured Sable returned to stand at ringside, obviously cheering for Mero to be victorious. Towards the conclusion of the match, Hunter went tried to use his walking cane against Mero as he did this past Monday on Raw, but Sable jumped to the apron and grabbed the cane from Helmsley. Hunter confronted Sable and grabbed her by the arm, but Mero quickly rescused Sable by dropping Hunter with a samoan drop. Mero then went to the top rope and connected with the Wildthing for the three count, leading to an in-ring celebration and embrace for Mero and Sable. Overall Rating: 84 Match Quality: 87 Crowd Reaction: 78 Marc Mero lost overness from this feud ending. Hunter Hearst-Helmsley lost overness from this feud ending. The Undertaker defeated Vader in a No DQ, No Count Out match after Tombstoning Vader onto a steel chairThe Phenom and the Mastadon used the stipulations to their advantage, using chairs and plunder from under the ring as weapons. In the end, Undertaker sat up after Vader had set him up for a Vader Bomb, and while Vader wasted too much time on the turnbuckle, Taker blasted him with a chair shot to the back and then cracked him with a stiff shot to the head. Undertaker then scooped up the big man and gave him the Tombstone on the chair, driving his head into the steel, and crossed Vader’s arms for the three count. Overall Rating: 90 Match Quality: 93 Crowd Reaction: 85 Undertaker gained overness from this feud ending Vader lost overness from this feud endingShawn Michaels defeated Diesel in a Steel Cage match to RETAIN the WWF Title after escaping the cage while Diesel was stuck in steel barsThis was a stiff and hard fought match. After an early flurry, Diesel punished Michaels for a majority of the match, busting him open after throwing him head first into the steel cage. At one point, as Diesel tried to escape he cage, HBK met him at the top turnbuckle and rammed his head into the cage, causing Diesel to fall to the mat. Michaels climbed the cage to the top, but instead of trying to escape, Michaels delivered an elbow drop to Diesel from the top of the cage! Both men were down for a bit after that one. As the action continued, Diesel got the upper hand and positioned HBK between the apron and the cage. Diesel stood back and went for a big boot, trying to smash Michales head into the steel, but HBK ducked the boot and Diesel got his foot stuck between two of the bars on the cage. A bloodied and exhausted Michaels then delivered Sweet Chin Music square on the jaw of Diesel. Diesel slumped over, hanging almost upside down with his foot still caught in the cage. Michaels, crimson mask and all, then walked to the door of the cage and triumphantly stepped down to the floor to retain the WWF Title. The PPV came to a close with HBK standing in the aisle with the WWF Title on his shoulder, bleeding from the head, and the Kliq celebrating in the stands. Overall Rating: 89 Match Quality: 99 Crowd Reaction: 69 Diesel gained overness from this feud ending.

I dislike the fact you don't do TV shows, just PPVs. No, I do TV shows. I had just played my game up to the point of Retribution, and instead of reposting all the shows before this, I decided to recap what had happened up to this point. Retribution was kind of the kickoff to the diary on this board, and I will continue from here. Raw will be the next show. Thanks for reading.

May 22, 1996 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Jim RossMarty Jannetty and Hakushi win an 8-Man Battle Royal for a Tag Team Title shot at King of the Ring when Jannetty last eliminates Henry Godwinn with help from the Smoking GunnsThe rules for this match were that the last man standing would win a tag team title shot for he and his partner at King of the Ring. The match included the Smoking Gunns, The Godwinns, Marty Jannetty and Hakushi, and the Bushwhackers. Luke and Butch were the first two eliminated, thrown out by the Godwinn cousins. In the end, Billy and Bart were trying to throw PIG out of the ring when HOG clobbered the entire group from behind, sending all three men to the outside. The Gunns couldn’t believe it and traded words with Henry. When HOG turned back to the ring, he was met with a double dropkick from Marty and Hakushi, and Billy and Bart pulled down the top rope as Henry stumbled back and then flipped over the top to the floor, giving the win to the underdogs Jannetty and Hakushi. Overall Rating: 69 Match Quality: 69 Crowd Reaction: 70Godwinns Get NastyFollowing the battle royal, the Godwinns and Smoking Gunns continued to brawl up the aisle and all the way to the back. The four men reach the backstage area, and it looks like the Gunns get the upperhand in the brawl and the Godwinns retreat. Billy and Bart watch the Godwinns walk off and then turn away to head back to their locker room at the request of officials, when they are both suddenly hit in the backs with steel chairs! The Godwinns have come back for more, this time with weapons. Henry grabs Bart and gives him a Slop Drop on the concrete floor! Phineas then winds up and cracks Billy in the skull with a chair! WWF officials surround the Godwinns and push them back, ordering them to leave, but the damage has been done and the Gunns are left lying out cold in the hallway. Overall Rating: 61 Billy and Bart lost overness from this segment. Phineas Godwinn gained overness from this segmentInterview with Steve AustinWe now go to the interview area where Todd Pettengill is with Steve Austin and Ted Dibiase. Todd: I’m standing here with the NEW Intercontinental Champion, Steve Austin, along with the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. Dibiase: Hahahah! That’s right Todd. I told you, just like I told everyone, that you could take it to the bank that Steve Austin would become the Intercontinental Champion at Retribution. And just like the rest of my gurantees, this man right here cashed it in last night. I give you the new Intercontinental Champion, Steve Austin. Austin: What you’re looking at is the best wrestler in the world today. I told everyone that all I needed was the opportunity and I would prove to the world the kind of star I am. So what do I do? I get my first title shot and BAM, I’m the Intercontinental Champion. Not only that, but I beat two, not one, but two men to win this title. And I’ll tell you this. Whoever thinks that they can take this title from me, take a number and step up to the plate. Ahmed Johnson, Goldust, Joe Schmo, it doesn’t matter because Steve Austin will run through you one by one! Just not tonight. See, being the new Intercontinental Champion and having gone through such a grueling match last night, I think I’ve earned a night off. Dibiase: A limo is already waiting outside. Lets go champ. Hahaha! Overall Rating: 92 Steve Austin gained overness from this segementJeff Jarrett defeated Savio Vega by submission with the Figure FourJarrett continued his roll since returning from injury, working over Vega’s legs. In the end, Jarrett ducked a roundhouse kick from Savio, took him with a double leg takedown, and locked on the Figure Four. Savio tried to reach the ropes, but eventually had to submit and give Jarrett the win. Overall Rating: 77 Match Quality: 71 Crowd Reaction: 84The Ultimate Warrior defeated Owen Hart with a body splash before having a confrontation with VaderAfter being victorious in a handicap match last night, Warrior met Owen Hart one on one. Owen put up a valiant effort, but couldn’t overcome the power of Warrior. Toward the conclusion, Jim Cornette jumped on the apron to distract Warrior, but when Owen tried to attack from behind, Warrior saw it coming and swiftly scooped Owen up and gorilla pressed him before dropping him to the mat. Warrior then bounced off the ropes and connected with a body splash for the three count. As Warrior celebrated in the ring , Cornette motioned towards the entrance way and out ran Vader! Vader slid in the ring and came face to face with Warrior. Vader bounced off the ropes and hit Warrior with a shoulder block, but Warrior barely budged to the surprise of Vader. Warrior beat on his chest and dared Vader to go for another one, but Cornette and Owen jumped in the ring and held the Mastadon back. Cornette apparently wanted to save this confrontation for another day. Overall Rating: 88 Match Quality: 90 Crowd Reaction: 84 Ultimate Warrior gained overness from this feud ending Owen Hart lost overness from this feud endingAustin and Dibiase Leave the ArenaWe now go to the backstage area and see Steve Austin and Ted Dibiase making their way to the parking lot where their limo awaits. Austin and Dibiase are all smiles until a booming voice is heard. “Hey boy!”Austin turns and is engulfed is a flurry of fists from Ahmed Johnson! Johnson and Austin brawl back and forth, with Ahmed getting the best of it, when suddenly Goldust appears and enters the fray as well! Ahmed and Goldust start to go at it, which gives Austin the chance to dart into the limo with Dibiase and drive off. Ahmed takes Goldust and throws him into a wall, effectively ending the brawl for now, then looks on angrily as the limo screeches off. Overall Rating: 82Shawn Michaels and “Wildman” Marc Mero defeat Diesel and Hunter Hearst-Helmsley by disqualification after Diesel uses a chair on MeroThis tag match was hot and heavy and eventually broke down into a four man brawl. Mero and Hunter went one on one in the ring, but as Mero started to gain momentum, Diesel grabbed a chair from the outside, slid in the ring, and blasted Mero in the back with it, drawing an obvious disqualification. Michaels then jumped in the ring after the bell and traded punches with Diesel, but HBK soon fell to the two on one advantage of Diesel and Helmsley and ended up down on the mat with Hunter and Big Daddy Cool putting the boots to him. Overall Rating: 86 Match Quality: 87 Crowd Reaction: 84The Bad Guy ReturnsContinuing their after match beating, Diesel motioned for Hunter to pick Michaels up to his feet as he grabbed the steel chair again. Diesel was starting to size HBK up for a chair shot when the crowd came to their feet and Razor Ramon came running down the aisle! Ramon slid in the ring and immediately clotheslined Hunter out of the ring while Diesel bailed out through the ropes. Ramon looked around ringside and did his signature thumb pointing and feet stomping, obviously fired up. Michaels got to his feet and Diesel and Hunter did not want to continue this fight with it two on two. Ramon stood side by side with HBK…..and then clotheslined him to the mat! What? Ramon gets a smirk on his face as the crowd starts to boo. Ramon picks HBK up and then gives him the Razor’s Edge! Ramon has laid out Shawn Michaels. Razor wipes sweat off his brow and flicks it on the unconscious Michaels. Ramon strikes a pose in the ring as this shocking edition of Raw comes to a close. Overall Rating: 89 Razor Ramon’s turn is complete, and he is now a heel Razor Ramon gained overness from his turn

May 29, 1996 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Jim RossBritish Bulldog defeated Savio Vega in a King of the Ring First Round match with the Running PowerslamThe Bulldog kicked Raw off with a King of the Ring first round match against Vega. Savio, a finalist last year, put up a good fight, but was eventually caught in Bulldog’s grasp and driven to the mat with the Running Powerslam, and Davey Boy got the win and advanced. Overall Rating: 74 Crowd Reaction: 74 Match Quality: 75Interview with the Number One ContendersWe now go to the interview area where Todd Pettengill is with Marty Jannetty and Hakushi.Todd: I’m here with the team of Marty Jannetty and Hakushi, who last week shocked the world by winning a tag team battle royal and thus earned a tag team title match with the Bodydonnas at King of the Ring. Guys, how does it feel? Marty: Todd, we are on top of the world right now. Last week was such a rush to win the tag team battle royal. It felt like I was a rock star, like Aerosmith or Van Halen, and I had just finished a killer concert. And I tell you what, Todd, we’re not going to just be content with the win last week. We’re gonna take that momentum straight into King of the Ring and we’re gonna take the tag team titles! Right Hakushi? Hakushi: What is…Van….Halen? Marty: (shaking his head) Come on, man. And now that Vader will meet the Warrior next week in a first round match of the King of the Ring, are some second thoughts possibly going through the big man’s mind? Cornette: Are you serious Pettengill? This man has no second thoughts. This man has no conscience. He kicks tail and asks questions later! And the Ultimate Warrior had better be thanking his stars that Camp Cornette was there last week to keep Vader from tearing him limb from limb. And I hope he was watching tonight, because if you haven’t noticed Camp Cornette is two for two in the King of the Ring tonight. And next week, this man will make it a clean sweep when he destroys the Ultimate Warrior! Vader: Warrior, the clock is ticking. Next week you will have to go face to face with the man they call Vader, and you will find out why it is Vader time! Razor comes out to the ring to boos from the crowd and stands next to Vince.Vince: Razor Ramon, last week the world saw you make your return to the World Wrestling Federation and it appeared you were out to help Shawn Michaels as he was being double teamed by Diesel and Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, but then you yourself attacked Shawn Michaels and left him lying with a Razor’s Edge. Could we get your explanation please? Razor: Actually Vince, it’s pretty simple. What you saw last week was the real Razor Ramon. In fact mang, what you saw was the real me, Scott Hall. There is no more Razor Ramon. Razor Ramon was what all of you wanted me to be. But what did that ever do for me? I didn’t get no private jet. I didn’t headline a WrestleMania. And I didn’t get one WWF Title shot. So what Scott Hall did, was go back to my roots, chico. I went back to doing what I do best, and that is, when I want something, I go and take it! So last week, I went straight to the top of the food chain. I went straight for Shawn Michaels, and I laid him out! And mang, you’d better get used to it. You wanted the ‘Bad Guy?’ Now, you got him. And if HBK, or anyone else, has something to say about it…..don’t sing it, bring it! Diesel then appears from behind the curtain and lays HBK out with a hard clothesline. Diesel and Hall then start to double team Michaels in the aisle. Hall lifts HBK up and drops him sternum first on the guard rail! Michaels is down and Hall and Diesel pose in the aisle as Raw comes to a close. Overall Rating: 85
