Well, i have been reading Infinite Crisis, and ignoring House of M, and so far I love Infinite Crisis. In fact, when I go to bed, I am going to be reading IC #1.

I am a lifelong Marvel Zombie. I started reading Amazing Spider-Man through my local library over 15 years ago. I remember having a Secret Wars poster on the back of my door. Age of Apocalypse is the reason I started collecting comics. For 10 years, I never bought a single in-continuity DC Comic book.
That being said, Infinite Crisis is one of the greatest comic stories of all time. House of M is a crappy crossover drawn out way too long with predictable twists and turns and "lasting ramifactions throughout the Marvel U" that affect only a few ongoing X-Men titles and absolutely nothing else.

I personally Have been enjoying the House of M story, I have 1-7 of the actual House of M comics and all of the Hulk ones (I dont even collect Hulk). I am a lifelong Marvel Zombie. Spoiler I dont see how Quicksilver being behind it all was predictable. I was completly surprised to see him as the culprit. But it will be interesting to see these ramifications and how long they last

I also suckled at the teats of Marvel back in the day. My first collected comic was an X-men issue (that, when I told Jim Lee about, he knew the EXACT issue number I didnt. That is a man who knows his stuff!). But DC really feels more mature to me anymore. Marvel still feels like what teenage kids read. Crisis feels like its putting heroes through the mud to make THEM realize what it means to be a hero again. And what makes them better than the people they fight. House of X- while entertaining- feels like a real good storyline, but not an "event" with any real impact. The ONLY good stuff has been about Hawkeye, and I wish they had done more (he even got shafted in his Pulse side-story). Here's a guy who learns he's dead because his friend KILLED him for no apparent reason, then fabricated him back to life and that, once it's all over and done, he'll be dead again. THATS the story I want. That said, I do like the HoX story. I like someone finally confronted the issue of Magneto and his kids in some direct fashion that hasnt, in my mind, be dealt with sufficently before. AND that someone acknowledged that Wanda's strongest ally is her brother-who hasnt been shown as such in many years except in small asides. Hell, Ullti-X and Ultimates has been doing a better-if in a creepy incestual way-job. House IS one of the better written crossover events that Marvel has done in years, but it still feels pedestrian and run of the mill. Crisis feels like a good story-full of twists, shocks and events that maybe wont be liked but will tell a much better story.
