"Tonight, we have a chance to say, 'Yeah, you're right. We're too extreme. We're too wild. We're too out of control. We're too full of our own sh*t.' Or we have a chance to say, 'Hey, f*ck you, you're wrong! F*ck you, we're right!' Because you have all made it to the dance. 'Cause believe me, this is the dance!" [/I] - Paul Heyman[/center] Timeline of Events[/u] August 16: After floundering in the ratings for it’s first ten weeks in existence, Extreme Championship Wrestling is dropped from the television schedule on the Sci-Fi network for the fall season. August 20: In a conference call with World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon, Paul Heyman expresses his disgust with Vince McMahon’s use of the ECW brand. McMahon and Heyman set up a meeting at Titan Towers to further discuss the issues. August 25: Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon have a meeting in Titan Towers to discuss the future of the ECW brand. An overly, perhaps TOO overly, arrogant McMahon takes offense to Heyman saying that the new breed of ECW would have been successful if the McMahons had no control over it. Believing this to be completely false, Vince McMahon agrees to release the all property and trademarks regarding Extreme Championship Wrestling to Paul Heyman… as well as releasing him from his contract. August 29: ECW runs its last episode of ECW on Sci-Fi. A belligerent Vince McMahon, who was backstage, was disgusted to hear how many superstars supported Heyman in his quest to reform his vision of ECW. September 1: Vince McMahon, in reaction to the outpour of support Paul Heyman was receiving from WWE contracted supertars, says that he will release any individual from his or her contract who wants to support Paul Heyman in Heyman’s new vision for pro-wrestling. September 4: In an event that will be known for years to come as “Bloody Monday”, the following superstars were granted their releases and signed onto Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling project: Balls Mahoney, C.M. Punk, C.W. Anderson, Kid Kash, Nunzio, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, The Sandman, Super Crazy, Tommy Dreamer, Tony Mamaluke, and Trinity. The WWE made no comment on their website, but instead immediately removed all of the leaving superstar’s biographies from the respective roster pages. September 7: A press release from Paul Heyman announced the signing of Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Jerry Lynn, Tracy Smothers, Yoshihiro Tajiri, Justin Credible, and Chris Jericho. It also added that there will be more signings in the future. September 21: After two weeks of absolute silence from the ECW camp, a huge announcement came from the newly re-openend ECW Hardcore TV will begin airing on Spike TV! This huge announcement sends shockwaves through the wrestling business, as ECW will be receiving one hour to show their stuff to a national audience. The first show will be held at the ECW Arena in South Philly, on October 6. ~~~

ECW Hardcore TV Episode 2 Sneak Preview[/u] Courtesy of ECWrestling.com
On October 6, hundreds across the world witnessed the rebirth of Extreme Championship Wrestling. One week later, they will witness the new breed of wrestling again as ECW presents the it's next episode of Hardcore TV.
Last week, Lance Storm made a surprise return to professional wrestling when he attacked Rob Van Dam to aid his former Impact Players partner, Justin Credible. This assault was only halted when the homicidal, suicidal, genocidial, death-defying Sabu made the save for Van Dam. The battle will be waged on Hardcore TV when Sabu teams with the "Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam to take on the newly reunited Impact Players! It's the battle of two two-time ECW Tag Team Champions, and you can see it live on Spike!
Chris Jericho assaulted Rey Mysterio, Jr. last week after he was defeated by Mysterio. Mysterio has asked for it, and ECW has delivered: the rematch is on for Hardcore TV! Jericho insulted Mysterio once, but can he pull out the win, or will Rey Mysterio, Jr. go 2-0 against the Lionheart?
The Dudley Boys will be in the house, and they have a score to settle with Tommy Dreamer after Dreamer pinned D-Von last week!
All of this, plus CM Punk gets to show his stuff in the real Extreme Championship Wrestling for the first time!
Tune in on Spike TV this Friday night at 10:00 for all of the EXTREME action of Hardcore TV!

Tazmission this is great!
Reading the statement from Paul Heyman from Barely Legal 97?, made me go watch some old ECW footage.

He is met with the capacity crowd at the ECW Arena chanting his name. Punk startles his opponent, Tony Mamaluke, at the opening bell with a series of quick arm drags. Mamaluke manages to regain his composure a few minutes in, and knocks Punk down with a back elbow. Mamaluke puts heat on Punk, and when it looks like he's about to make a comback, Smothers trips Punk up. Mamaluke has Punk in a sleeper, but Punk fights out of it, hitting a back drop, and then a Lariat. Punk eventually picks up the win at 12:18 with the Anaconda Vince. Winner: CM Punk Rating: 72%
* Paul Heyman comes down to the ring after the commercial break. He announces that in the main event tonight, we will see two tag teams re-unite as the Impact Players of Lance Storm and Justin Credible take on Rob Van Dam and Sabu. The Dudley Boys hit the ring. They tell Paul Heyman that they were screwed over in WWE, screwed over in TNA, and they're not going to be screwed over in the company they made - they want Tommy Dreamer tonight. Before Heyman can make a decision, Bubba Ray Dudley shoves him down to the mat. D-Von spits at Heyman, and the Dudleys leave. Rating: 74%
* Chris Jericho is backstage. He tells Rey Mysterio, Jr. that his win last week was a fluke, and that he's coming for his revenge tonight. Rating: 97%
2) Rey Mysterio, Jr. VS Chris Jericho This is a rematch from last week, where Rey Mysterio pinned Jericho, but Jericho disrespected him after the match. Mysterio started this off hot and heavy, sending Jericho to the outside. They brawled through the crowd, with Mysterio ramming Jericho head first into chairs. Mysterio then hit a Hurricanrana off of the merchandise table onto Jericho. When they make their way back inside the ring, Jericho counters a Hurricanrana attempt with a Powerbomb. He works on Mysterio for a few minutes, including nearly getting the victory with a Liontamer, but Mysterio makes the ropes. Rey makes his comeback after getting his knees up on a Lionsault attempt. He hits the 619 for a big pop, but when he goes for the West Coast Pop, Jericho managed to hit a spin kick to the face. Jericho grabs a steel chair from the outside, and pummels Mysterio with it. He then locks in the Liontamer again, and gets the victory at 20:43 when Mysterio is unconscious. Winner: Chris Jericho Rating: 86%
* The Dudley Boys hit the ring again. Then run down the crowd, until Tommy Dreamer runs out to the ring. Bubba runs, but Dreamer catches D-Von, and gives him a Spicolli Driver. With D-Von knocked out, the referee calls for the bell, and we've got Bubba Ray Dudley VS Tommy Dreamer in an impromptu match.
3) Tommy Dreamer VS Bubba Ray Dudley Dreamer starts off brawling with Bubba around the ringside area, using the chairs that fans hold up. Dreamer crotches Bubba on the guardrail for a big pop. Inside the ring, Bubba blocks a Dreamer DDT attempt by ramming Dreamer into the corner. He then hits a big powerbomb for a nearfall. Bubba brings a table into the ring, and tries for a Powerbomb, but Dreamer slips out of it. Dreamer waffles Bubba with a steel chair. He goes for a Spicolli Driver through the table, but D-Von makes the save with a low blow. Bubba holds Dreamer in place, while D-Von swings the chair, but Dreamer moves out of the way, and D-Von is cracked with it! Bubba is shocked, but he turns around, lifted onto the shoulders of Dreamer, and dropped with a Spicolli Driver through the table! Dreamer makes the pin and scores the win at 9:53! After the match, D-Von is on the attack. Once Bubba regains his faculties, he joins in too, and he and D-Von stomp at Dreamer. Suddenly, the crowd goes wild... SPIKE DUDLEY charges the ring with a steel chair! D-Von swings a punch, but he's taken down with a chair shot! Bubba charges, but is kicked in the gut, and given the Acid Drop! The Dudleys regroup on the ramp, as Spike stomps around the ring, and Dreamer looks up at him in shock. Winner: Tommy Dreamer Rating: 76%
4) The Impact Players (Lance Storm and Justin Credible) w/ Dawn Marie VS Rob Van Dam and Sabu w/ Bill Alfonso The four men open the match up by brawling on the ramp-way. Storm and Credible focus on Van Dam, while Sabu sneaks into the ring with a steel chair. He sets it up in the center of the ring, steps up on top of it, and dives out to the onto all three! Back inside the ring, the Players get the early advantage when Credible rakes the eyes of Van Dam. Storm and Credible cut off the ring, preventing Van Dam from tagging Sabu. Storm locks Van Dam in the Canadian Maple Leaf, but Sabu broke it up by throwing at Lance's head! This enabled Van Dam to make the hot tag. Sabu charged the ring, taking out both Players. He nailed a beautiful springboard moonsault on Storm for 2. Sabu then dove onto Credible on the outside. Back inside the ring, Van Dam throws a chair at Storm, but this time he's able to catch it... right into a Van Daminator! Van Dam climbs up top, as Credible hits Sabu with a DDT on the floor. RVD tries for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Dawn Marie holds onto Van Dam's leg! This gives Storm enough time to hit a Superkick on RVD, knocking him to the mat! Storm makes the cover with his feet on the ropes for the three at 16:27! As soon as the bell rings, Storm, Credible, and Dawn head for high ground, as Van Dam and Sabu stew.
