Well, I figured since this is a new place, I'd like to get your opinions. As you can see, I've stolen KAMs idea......I mean, I'll be doing a Hero Of The Day column. But I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what we could do. Perhaps a "I Just Bought" style thread for your latest comic related purchases? Anything? Perhaps to kick things off we do a Marvel/DC character showdown/survivor? Whatever. Just make some suggestions that'll keep you coming back.

Sounds like a good idea. Although it may be hard for some, since some people tend to hoard their comics. Currently, I'm only in possession of my Wolverine collection, some manga, and random other comics, so it wouldn't be too hard for me. I tend to give comics that I feel won't hold much merit in the future either away, or to a shop for $$$.  I really should hoard. But if anyone else finds it a good idea, I'll sticky a topic for it  |

My suggestion? Make it a sub board to Entertainment because then I can visit it on a regular basis. I never understood why comic discussion was relegated to the Other Figures board. I'm not a comic collector, but I was a comic reader and it really never made sense to me. When I was Entertainment mod, back in the day, I attempted to get some comic discussion going on the Entertainment board and it always went over well.

I wouldnt mind a comic book figure thread....The other figures thread just doesnt work it seems. I've posted my DC Direct collection on it and only heard Crickets chirping.

Well, we locked the Marvel Legends thread because now that we have our own little board, we don't need big long figure topics anymore. Marvel Legends topics, as well as other comic related figures get their own seperate topics now. Post your DC Collection now, in it's own thread  I'll be interested to see it. Although, if things start getting out of hand, we may need to bring back up the Official thread. |

I think this should be under a the entertainment section though... then it can include Superhero movies, TV shows, comics, books etc. and also comics, marvel legends and games if need be.
Its too see it finally happen though!
I wouldn't mind seeing other people's collectiosn too.

And how about a thread about lame characters, sort of like Wizard's old Mort of the Month, but maybe weekly? Someone picks a guy they find lame and write why they blow. And its an excuse to post more pictures of really stupid looking characters.

I personally think the more mainstream comic-related stuff, like Smallville or Batman Begins, should remain in the Entertainment board, and this should be simply about comic books and related memorabilia. It looks like the Smallville thread that was here early has been moved already anyway, so maybe that's what you mods already decided to do.

Well, the whole location of the board is out of any of our hands. So that won't be happening. As far as a contest. I was thinking of doing a Character battle type thing where I have people enter 2 characters each. I may make an official topic tonight to see if everyone likes the idea. |
