Infinite Crisis has been huge, and extremely good so far, and I figured we could use a thread to discuss it.
This will be heavily laden with SPOILERS, so if you aren't caught up on the story, don't read ahead.

I have to agree with what comicspidey (I think) said, that Batman saying to Superman, "The last time you inspired people, was when you were dead." was a classic, and awesome line. Infinite Crisis #1 was pretty awesome, and it seems like people are going to start dropping like flies.
Watching Uncle Sam and co. get decimated was sad. Especially watching Bizarro smash the Human Bomb to a bloody stain on the floor. Although, it's probably time they killed off Uncle Sam, as he is very outdated, and hardly ever used anymore.

Am I the only one partaking in the greatness of Infinite Crisis?

That line from Batman was AMAZING! One of the best written lines in Comic history. Inifinate Crisis so far hasent disappointed. I just hope that it doesnt begin to be all about an alternate universe....I want everything to stay in the Current DC universe...The last page of I.C. 1 tells me I'm not going to get my wish.

I just hope that it doesnt begin to be all about an alternate universe....I want everything to stay in the Current DC universe...The last page of I.C. 1 tells me I'm not going to get my wish. Well, it lends credibility to calling this Crisis.Sadly, many people wont understand exactly who these characters are unless they go back and read COIE. I did only months ago and Im glad I did. I mean, at the end, they never really died. They kind of just "removed" themselves from the timestream. They left it unclear, but readers likely assumed they died back then. However, it isnt defying comic history to have them return AND it serves as a bridge between the two I really like. If you are going to take something from the past that had impact, making it work- at least acceptably- is fine by me. Thats why I think Johns is the best superhero comic writer today. And Batman's line was, as Rick James might say, cooooold bloooooded. But SO memorable. That line will be remembered for AGES as one of the defining moments of comic history-you could just feel that as you read it. It's on of those things that in reality, if you said, you'd immediately wish you could take it back. But it felt so true in that moment....I'm not going fanboy because I like both companies, but no WAY would Marvel ever put those words in a good guy's mouth. And, as I said, I like the tie into previous Crisis. From what I get from the first issue is the original reboot of the DC after Crisis was, in comic reality (because in OURS it was just to streamline continuity), meant to begin a fresh slate for everyone to hopefully do "right" in some kind of cosmic way and they have failed. SO what does this mean for the current DCU? This is the first time in ages a superhero book has made me want the next issue to come so soon (currently only Walking Dead and Y have that distiniction). Its also the first "event" to actually feel like it. Not those awful 90s crapfests (Zero Hour=zzzzz). The last thing that felt like this was Infinity Gauntlet (and ONLY Gauntlet, not the sad sequels) Also, I see a query I posed earlier in another thread was answered as to the fate of Billy Batson. Glad they resolved that quickly. But without Shazam, isnt he mostly powerless? Anyone read Villains United? Two Luthors? Who's the one that was President? Because I thought Luthor 1 died and this was a clone anyway, or something as such. Hate for them to start confusing backstory so soon, but I got a feeling they'll resolve it well enough. Someone should do a checklist of who died so far in Crisis, but that might be hard. I'm glad it's not all B-level or less, though they are the majority. BTW-Deathstroke=heartless.

BTW-Deathstroke=heartless. Ah yes, Deathstroke! I cannot believe I forgot him from my "Favorite Villians" list. For shame.

Good Post Jayne Cobb! I didnt read Villians united as my budget just didnt have enough room for all the crossovers. Sadley, I chose to get the Rann/Thangar war...It was good but from what I hear Villains united was the place to be. I hadnt heard of two Luthors. I remember when Current Luthor had long hair and a big red beard. Back around Death of superman. Deathstroke is an amazing villain.....A shame that he just recently starting being used as much.

Rann/Thanagar was the worse of the four miniseries I think.
I rank them:
Omac Villains United Day of Vengeance Rann/Thanagar
I highly recommend reading Villains United.

Rann/Thanagar was the worse of the four miniseries I think. I rank them: Omac Villains United Day of Vengeance Rann/Thanagar I highly recommend reading Villains United. Yeah, OMAC was the best of them. The only one I skipped was DoV, and they've explained enough in other books that I know THAT story. Rann/Thangar will be the most confusing if you didnt read the series. I mean, the whole story was ONE war that was only a setup for the current Crisis one. The entire point was to have them right there for that space/time hole to open up. If I understand the four minis, here's the gist (and this might be of help to people who missed any of them). Be advised that Crisis might change these somewhat: OMAC-Batman's spy satellite went rogue and decided to kill any supers, good or evil once Wonder Woman killed Ted Kord. However, the new prime OMAC, Sasha Bordeaux, highjacked the sat and controls them directly. OMAC is still a threat, but one that is trying to be contained. Villains United: The six were assembled by Lex Luthor 1 in an attempt to keep Lex 2's plot from proceeding. Each was picked because of their knowledge and skills in combating EVERY other villain in DCU. However, because of Chesire's betrayal, they failed and now Lex 1 is on a collision course with Lex 2. And HE's the one that wanted the power suit. Which, if I recall, was also used in Crisis of Infinte Earths. We also learned that the villains do NOT plan to mindwipe the heroes, but something much worse. My guess is mindwiping the rest of the world into forgetting THEM. That's why I feel they're jumping ahead. Get ready to quote this. BTW-Doesn't this feel like a psudeo-prequel to Mark Millar's "Wanted"? Like, read Villains United then Wanted and see what MIGHT happen if they succeed. Its pretty uncanny. Day of Vengeance: Didnt read this, but I skimmed it at my comic shop. Feel free to correct whatever. Spectre has no earthly ties and, due to Eclipso, has gone on a quest to destroy magic. But all that's done is send it into chaos. So thats why demons are invading Gotham. Also, Spectre killed Shazam and took his power. They teased Billy Batson falling to his death, but he saved himself at the last minute by calling Shazam. Now, how that works without him being alilve, I dont know. Rann/Thanagar: I forgot allk these alien names, but Thangar was at the cusp of calling off the fighting when their leader was lead into attacking Rann's weakened forces. Then a rip in space/time occured and its slowly swallowing the galaxy at that point. Now even the Green Lanterns can figure it out. It's Kree/Skrull for the DCU. But it keeps the GL's tied up. Feel free to add more. But that's, I think, the general gist of them.

Pretty accurate review.
Though Wonder Woman killed Max Lord, not Ted Kord.
Ted Kord (Blue Beetle) was killed by checkmate, who was run by Max Lord.
Wonder Woman killed Lord, because he was mentally controlling Superman (who he had try to kill Batman). She had him in the lasso, and asked him how to make him stop. He said the only way, was to kill him. So she snapped his neck, causinga huge rift between Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Another big thing that came out of day of Vengeance (my personal favorite of the four) was that all the old spells, barriers and such set in place by all magicians/warlocks/whatever throughout time have been broke, so untold horrors have been unleashed on Earth (hence the demons in Gotham).
BTW, check out my new sig...I just thought it was perfect.

I think some book wrote Kord's name and its stuck. Anyone else think Kord will end up the new Spectre when this is all over?

I grabbed the last I needed of the tie-ins at a convention I worked today. . . write-up tomorrow. But Infinite #1 had SO much going on it was hard to follow. Both the covers rock.
