The show kicks off with a recap of what happened on Nitro. Schavonie and Zybysko welcome us to Saturday Night! They said that they have a whole load of action so lets kick it off.... We cut to a hype video for Harlem Heat. They said at the end that Nitro will be heated up. Alex Wright v. Psicosis:A good match between the two, its just that the crowd wasn't digging it. They went back and fourth, before Wright scored the victory over Psicosis with the Flying Press. Afterwards, Ultimo Dragon came from behind of Wright and hit him with the Dragon Sleeper.62%Jeff Jarrett comes out to the ring. He says that someone has to accept his challenge. No one comes out. He then gets a chair and sits down in the middle of the ring waiting. Just then THE GIANT! comes out and Jarrett is stunned... Jeff Jarrett v. The Giant:This match didn't last long. The Giant made quick work of Jarrett, and hit the chokeslam for the win. Schavonie mentioned that, "This is the last time Jarrett makes an open challenge...hopefully"74%A Recap of the Luger/Piper v. The Outsiders from Nitro aired... After this, Luger came out and cut a promo about the match. He said that facing Bagwell will be no problem. Just then Ted DiBiase came out representing the NWO. He said that it won't just be Bagwell, it will be Bagwell and the rest of the NWO, because its a no DQ match. Luger looks pissed, and we get set for the main event! MAIN EVENT:Diamond Dallas Page v. Syxx:This match was great, and showcased these two men skills. The ending wasn't the best though, as Syxx cheated to get the win. He used brass knuckles, and then hit a powerbomb for the win. DDP was pissed off as Syxx walked out as Saturday Night ended.74%

We opened Shotgun with Flash Funk making his entrance for the opening bout against Justin Hawk Bradshaw, with the winner going into the Royal Rumble at a later number than the loser. Bradshaw put up a good fight, but in the end, a 450 Splash is the fate he suffered. Post-match, he attacked Funk, leaving him bloody and battered. (63%)
We come back to Shotgun to Rocky Maivia, who says he's got the biggest opportunity of a lifetime tonight, and he won't let it slip. He says he guarentees he will beat Sycho Sid.
We went to a recap video of Undertaker/Vader, showing Bearer turning on Taker and Vader winning #1 contendership at the Rumble.
Our main event was on. Sycho Sid vs. Rocky Maivia. This was a great size vs. speed story, and the match didn't completely fall apart. Sid snapped on Rocky, hitting 3 chokeslams and a thunderous Powerbomb before pinning him. Vader attacked Sid post-match, hitting a Vaderbomb from the middle rope on an unconscious Sid. Vader posed with the WWF Title as we went off the air. (79%)

Shaping up to be a great show Ricky. Let's go Helmsley *clap clap clap clap clap* Oh god, it's Ahmed vs The Bulldog. Ahmed couldn't wrestle himself out of a paper bag, so it's Davey time, bitches. Mankind is one of the best things to come out of this era, and he really stepped it up a notch in '97. Hope this diary can reflect that. in' A.

We open Superstars with a recap of what happened on RAW, mainly the Final Four where Bulldog won the #30 spot in the 'Rumble, as we go to..
The British Bulldog beat Ahmed Johnson with a Powerslam in a fairly lengthy match for Ahmed. Afterwards, Farooq attacked Ahmed, nailing him with a 2x4. Ahmed was helped back to the back by the Paramedics. (78%)
We show a video package hyping Mankind, showing clips of his feud with Undertaker, and his Mind Games match with Shawn Michaels.
We come back to Mankind vs. Aldo Montoya. This wasn't a bad match, and for a second it seemed like Montoya had the bout won, until Mankind put the mandible claw on him, and that was all she wrote. (63%)
Hunter Hearst Helmsley is standing by, he tells Savio Vega that when it's over, he'll be on the first plane back to Puerto Rico.
The main event is on. Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Savio Vega for the Intercontinental Title. The crowd actually BACKED Hunter, and booed Savio. Hunter still played the heel, using underhanded tactics. But once the arms were butterflied, the Pedigree was inevitable, or was it? Savio broke free, hit a big spinning wheel kick, then whipped Hunter, put his head down, and WHAM! Pedigree from Hunter, and that is it. 1...2...3. Hunter celebrates with the IC Title as we go off the air. (89%)

We kick off The Main Event, with some action. La Parka is in the ring, awaiting his opponent. Bobby Eaton walks out from the curtain as we get set. Bobby Eaton v. La Parka:Well, not the best match, as these two styles are polar opposites. Eaton made some quick work out of La Parka, when he finished him off with the Alabama Slam. Eaton celebrated his win, as the crowd was dead silent.54%Dean Malenko made his way out to the ring. He said that Eddie put up a great fight, but no one can stop the 'Man of 1000 Holds.' Just then, Chris Benoit came to the ring. He said that the 'Crippler' can stop anyone. He challenged Malenko to a US title match at Souled Out. Malenko accepted as Benoit left the ring. The recap of the Syxx/DDP match aired, where Schavonie went over it, piece by piece. The nWo were in the back. They told Buff Bagwell that he has nothing to worry about. Buff laughs, then sits and watches the rest of the show. A Hugh Morrus hype video aired. Hollywood Hogan was in the ring. He said that there is no way Luger gets out alive this monday, unless he has a good plan. Hogan then says he has a good plan. Luger came out on the ramp, and said he has back up. He brings out Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, and none other than Sting. Hogan looks pissed, as we get set for the main event. Main Event Cruiserweight ChampionshipUltimo Dragon (C) v. Rey Misterio Jr.:THE BEST MATCH OF THE WEEK! These two men fed off of eachother. Misterio had the match, when he almost hit a moonsault. A Dragon Sleeper finished off Misterio and Dragon retains! Afterwards though, Alex Wright repayed the favor from last night. He hit Dragon with a chair and challenged him to a Cruiserweight Championship Match at Souled Out as the Main Event ended.78%

Out of all the cruiserweights in WCW at the time, there's no one I'd least like to see with a title shot than Alex ing Wright. Oh, and Bobby Eaton does the Alabama JAM. Top Rope Leg Drops FTW. Outside of that, I liked the show. Nice build up for Nitro.

This is going good so far. I really like the build for both shows.
The only thing I have a problem with is why isn't Schiavone saying that every match isn't the "biggest in the history of sports entertainment" ;D

I'm really liking this diary. I dont know much about this era, but its really showing me what i missed. Im pleased Ultimo went over Rey, I just wish there were more than two matches.
WWF is also looking really, really good as well. I like the fact that HHH is going over, and i so thought he was gonna lose the title at Superstars. Good way to add some surprise to this.

This Week on WWF RAW is WAR!:Monday Night RAW is a thing of the past. This week, the WWF debuts RAW is WAR, and what a better way to kick off the new show than with "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith taking on WWF Champion Sycho Sid in non-title action!
Also this week, the unlikely team of Bret "Hitman" Hart and "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels will face off against The Undertaker and Bret's own brother "The Rocket" Owen Hart!
Hunter Hearst Helmsley will take on the man he beat yesterday on Superstars, Savio Vega, in a rematch for the Intercontinental Title!
All this and more on the debut of RAW is WAR!

THIS WEEK ON MONDAY NIGHT NITRO!:Lex Luger will be facing off against Buff Bagwell. Yes, it seems like an easy task for Lex, but it is a No Disquailification match. Luger MUST win this match to get a shot at Hollywood at Souled Out. Luger as come prepared with back-up though, as Savage, Piper, and Sting will be backing him up, just incase things get messy with the nWo. Two other members of the nWo, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, have their handsful, as they will be watching the Steiner Brothers/Harlem Heat match, to see who they will face at Souled Out for the tag titles. Two other great matches this week, including a big tag team match, with Ultimo Dragon teaming with Dean Malenko to face Chris Benoit and Alex Wright. This should be great, as these four men have their respectful matches at Souled Out. Chris Jericho will be back in action, as he trys to keep his title push alive, when he squares off with Konann. Finally, we hear from the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair and how he will have a part in this sundays Souled Out! This Monday only on NITRO!
