Back-story Part 1/2
Time Warner have been very interested in getting another wrestling program on TBS. They tried a few of the current wrestling companies but couldn't sign with any of the major companies. So they decided to approach NWA with a proposition that they start a new company base it in Texas and they would give them a slot on Thursday nights. The NWA accepted this proposal and decided on NWA -Legacy Wrestling and handed the realms over to the legendary Von Erich family to run it down in Texas. The Von Erich’s decided to give a high power position to their family friend Michael Fury. This is his story.
Running a wrestling business, boy that’s going to be tough. I've spoke to Kevin mostly and am actually a bit surprised he took this opportunity; I think he actually took for everyone except himself, shows how nice he is. He left a lot of responsibility to me and one of them was acquiring a roster and staff. Me and Ross focused on this and decided at first we'd try to just get some recognizable talent to get the show off the ground then after that we'd focus on developing new talent and as well as training up some. I thought the first few talents I would focus on acquiring would be Solofa Fatu (formerly Rikishi), Pete Gruner (Billy Kidman), Sean Waltman & Adam Birch (Joey Mercury), I've been close with Glenn Gilberti & Mike Sanders so I'm hoping to acquire them, I was also talking to Bob Sapp about him returning to wrestling and he said his MMA contracts had finished and he was interested so I thought I'd try to get him. I had the Palmer events center in Austin booked for the 1st of May to have the taping for the Thursday show. Ah well time to get recruiting some superstars as well as some staff, I know someone was talking about Scott Hudson & Tony Schiavone, I think I might go talk with Ross and we should be well on our way

Back-story Part 2/2
Well it was done we had contacted everyone we were interested for the first shows as well as notified some other potential stars that we had shortlisted them and would be interested in seeing them for future shows. I had a meeting with Ross today and he said he had some calls to him about who was interested as he was the contact for these things, I was going to head to meet for lunch later.
Later that day
Ross handed me over the list and said he was reasonably happy. I looked at the list, it wasn't the most star studded list and we hadn't got everyone we had hoped for but still it'd be good enough to get the show off the ground and hopefully people would be interested after the first show if it was good. Ross then told me about some of the guys he contacted and how they rejected him and then the guys that accepted, It was good actually that a majority of the future stars we wanted all said they'd be interested. Ross said he had talked with some of the other people involved with his project and how they had talked about getting some older more recognisable faces but they shot down the idea for younger stars, that's what I'm really liking about this is the fact that the guys are thinking a while into the future with this project. I look once more at the list and go through all the names.
NWA-LW Roster Bob Sapp - (H), UM Desire - (F), LM Evan Karagias - (H) LM Glenn Gilberti - (H) UM Heartthrob Antonio - (F) M Heartthhrob Romeo - (F) M Jazz - (H) M Jorge Estrada - (F) LM Kid Romeo - (H) M Lash Leroux - (F) M Mike Sanders - (H) UM Mr. Aguila - (F) M Pete Gruner - (F) ME Sean Waltman - (H) ME

Future Stars Caprice Coleman Michael Modest Mistico Onyx Slyk Wagner Brown Xavier
Notable Staff Kevin Kelly - Production Mike Sparks - Referee Scott Hudson - Announcer Tim Horner - Road Agent Tony Schiavone - Announcer
So overall I was happy with the outcome of what we had got. I'm really looking forward to this and hoping it turns out to be a good thing.

The countdown is nearly over until our first show. I had been speaking with most of the talent all through the week and we were pretty downpacked on what was happening. Many people are hoping to make Bob Sapp a star in this company and so was I. Waltman & Gruner were probably the most recognisable faces on our roster so they would be headlining our first show. We were going to bring in a World Title but any other titles would be waiting in the balance. We had all what was going to happen downpacked for the first show. We were going to focus on the already established stars for the first show then bring in the future stars in other shows.
NWA:LW Show 1The Von Erich's would welcome everyone to Legacy Wrestling Bob Sapp vs Lash Leroux Evan Karagias vs Kid Romeo vs Jorge Estrada vs Mr. Aguila The Heartthrobs (Romeo & Antonio) vs Glenn Gilberti & Mike Sanders Sean Waltman vs Pete Gruner
Plus throw in a few interviews & segments and we were set. We were happy with our first show. We were very excited and hoped it turned out good.

It was go time. I had arrived at the Palmer Events center for our very first show. Everyone was huddled into a single room and we were ready. NWA Legacy wrestling was about to begin and hopefully it would kick off to something huge.
The show kicked off with a very nice video package put together by Kevin Kelly and the production crew featuring the history of the NWA as well as the legacy of the Von Erichs capped off by the message "a new era has begun".
Hudson & Schiavone welcomed us to the show as the Von Erich's music played and they got a very warm reception. The crowd looked about 700-800 people which was a very good figure. The Von Erich's welcomed everyone to the show and a big applause happened, they were about to announce the first match when Bob Sapp interuppted. He was great on the mic and said he didn't need to be introduced by anyone because he was a mega star. He got a good chorus of boos for this and our first match was underway.
Bob Sapp vs Lash Leroux This was a decent match but our main aim was to get Bob Sapp established as a dominant force and he finished the match after a nice muscle buster. Sapp got a good reaction after the match. Winner - Bob Sapp
The Heartthrobs cut an entertaining interview saying how excited they were to be here and how they were here to send a message to everyone that the heartthrobs were back and they were going to defeat Gilberti & Sanders. These guys are entertaining but they aren't the best on the mic.
Evan Karagias vs Kid Romeo vs Jorge Estrada vs Mr. Aguila The crowd wasn't really into this match as they were probably still a bit unfamiliar with these guys but the action more than made up for it. These 4 put on a good bout and if any other title was to be brought in I think it might be a lightweight style title focusing on these guys and others. Evan Karagias won with an impressive corkscrew moonsault. Winner - Evan Karagias
Karagias goes backstage and grabs a mic and says that he was the present and future of professional wrestling. He again was entertaining on the mic without being great on it.
Desire comes to the ring and says that this new era will involve women's wrestling, Jazz then comes out and says that Desire isn't a wrestler. The two have a confrontation, the obviously horny crowd are into it, Desire is quite good on the mic to be honest. Women's wrestling was also another thing that we were looking into.
The Heartthrobs vs Glenn Gilberti & Mike Sanders A fun match which the crowd was into. Gilberti & Sanders were really playing the crowd and played them well. This was a standard Face vs Heel tag match. The match itself was decent and the finish came with a double STO on Gilberti. I doubt we would be starting a tag division just yet. Winners - The Heartthrobs
Another nice video package put together airs. This time featuring our future stars. It sent a message that a new era was coming and the crowd enjoyed it as well.
Sean Waltman made his way to the ring. He got the biggest reaction of the night as the crowd booed him. Waltman got on the mic and was decent and called out his opponent Gruner. And our main event was underway.
Sean Waltman vs Pete Gruner This was the best match of the night as the two really complimented each other's wrestling styles. This was fast paced constant action all the way through. The crowd was also really into it. This match impressed everyone backstage as they fought a real good match. Gruner won after a Shooting Star Press and the crowd applauded him. Gruner offered a handshake to Waltman but Waltman just spat at Gruner. Winner - Pete Gruner
We were all left with a good taste in our mouths after this match. The crowd applauded and then left. Everyone congratulated Waltman & Gruner when they got to the back. We would have to wait for the rating's and official attendance but hopes were currently good. We had some things to work on but we were right onto that. We left for another day and another week as we looked forward to the future.

The first show was over and generally we were pretty happy. We got a 0.8 rating which we were generally happy with backstage, it seems the public wants wrestling back mainstream again. That still put us 0.3 behind TNA which was our first target. 585 people attended our first show which was a very good signEverybody loved the Waltman/Gruner match, Tim Horner thought it was because they had such good chemistry in the ring that made their matches click. Ross was focusing on getting some more names onto our roster and he said he had gotten Shocker, B-Boy and April Hunter (which Slyk Wagner Brown seemed to have an objection to), but he was also out negotiating with some bigger names. We weren't going to really use any of these guys this week but they may be used in the future. We decided to pair newcomers Slyk Wagner Brown & Onyx together but we hadn't yet come up with a name for them. We were going to debut the world's title at our third show but we still hadn't decided who to put it on. I spoke with a few of the guys and asked what they wanted a couple wanted gimmick changes but nothing real major. Well we were looking forward to our next show and were hoping everyone else was. We were really hoping to create our own legacy.

We were nearly at our second show. This show we were going to focus on debuting 3 new stars as well as building on some others. We were deciding on who should feud at the top and whether it would be Sapp or Waltman taking on Gruner and we would come to a decision on who to crown as our first champion. We had decided to name the team of Onyx & Slyk Wagner Brown as The G-Boppers, a smooth talking, slick & hard hitting tag team. We were also going to debut Mistico at this show. Gruner/Sapp was our main event but don't expect Waltman to be taking a back seat.

I arrived at the arena we went through everything 1 more time. And then it was go time.
We started the show off with Bob Sapp coming out to the ring. He grabbed a mic and started talking about how great he was and how he should be the first champion. Pete Gruner then hit the ring and said Sapp has no right to say anything. Gruner challenged Sapp to a match later on. Sapp accepted then the two had a heated confrontation, these 2 worked pretty well together and the crowd was into it.
The G-Boppers vs Jorge Estrada & Mr. Aguila The crowd was pretty dead for this match. The G-Boppers used some unique offense. These 2 look like they may have some future. The G-Boppers won after a powerbomb, top rope clothesline combination for the 3. The G-Boppers then engaged in a beatdown on Estrada & Aguila and started to get some heat. Winners - The G-Boppers
Gilberti & Sanders were backstage and cut an interview. These 2 are great on the mic. They targeted the Heartthrobs for a majority of the interview saying how lucky they were last week and how that Antonio was going to face defeat to Gilberti.
A video package aired focused on Mike Modest. The crowd didn't really know who it was but were left with some anticipation on the icon among icons. Another good job by Kelly & the crew.
Glenn Gilberti w/ Mike Sanders vs Heartthrob Antonio w/ Heartthrob Romeo This was a decent match as the two clicked pretty well in the brawling department. The crowd was semi into it. Gilberti used heelish tactics and carried the match for a majority of it. Gilberti won after interference from Sanders. Sanders and Gilberti were chased away by the heartthrobs but not without a smile on their faces. Winner - Glenn Gilberti
Sean Waltman was backstage on the mic. He cut an interview stating that he is sick of all the talk about the first champ. He said he deserves it and he is going to make his point.
Mistico vs Kid Romeo Probably the best match of the night. Mistico has a real future here. Mistico wowed the crowd with some great aerial assault. The crowd got more into it as the fight went on. Mistico was in control until Evan Karagias came out and pushed him off the top rope leading to a Scoop Slam Piledriver for the 3. After the match Romeo & Karagias continued the beatdown on Mistico. Winner - Kid Romeo
Desire came out to the ring and she could actually work the mic pretty good. She challenged Jazz to a match next week. Jazz came out laughing. She then accepted the challenge. This was our first step to seeing if we would build a women's division.
Bob Sapp vs Pete Gruner The crowd was into this. Bob Sapp creates a real presence that everybody loved. The match itself was actually a pretty good back and forth match. Gruner surprised Sapp with a roll-up to win the match. Sapp was furious but Waltman then came out and attacked both men. The locker room then filed out to the ring for a massive brawl. Ross then came to the stage and said he has an announcement about the NWA - Legacy title. He then said that next week a champ would be decided in a 20 man battle royale. This got a good pop from the crowd to end the show. Winner - Pete Gruner
We did feel this was a weaker show than our debut but that didn't really affect morale. Things were looking up for us. Ross said he was real close to signing a name that I'd love, he wouldn't tell me who though. We had already gotten into booking our next show. We wished everybody the best and looked onto next week.

We just got the ratings and attendance levels. Our ratings were down from last weeks as they were a 0.7 and our attendance was roughly the same at 578. Ross said to me he had gotten a face name who had talent and youth. He still wouldn't tell me who it was though all though he said he'd be debuting at the next show in the battle royale. In fact he said he had booked the whole match so that left me not knowing anything about the next show. Everybody was generally happy with the debuts of Mistico, Onyx & Slyk Wagner Brown. Many thought Mistico could be a big star. Also Bob Sapp was quickly becoming one of the stars of our show. He was getting more and more over every week and he has a real presence about him. TBS were generally happy with the ratings we were getting. Well it was soon to be our third show and we were soon to crown a new champ, everybody was pumped for it.

Our third show wasn't long away. Ross was still keeping a lot of things secret and I liked having the suspense for the shows. We had booked a few more matches for the undercard to the main event battle royale and a few guys would be working double duty. Right now the only person who knew anything about the battle royale was Ross, he had told most of the wrestlers he'd be telling them on the night what do to and not to tell me. Sanders, Romeo, Karagias and Leroux would all be working double duty on the night, we were going to throw in a couple of debuts prematurely to fill up the numbers.
NWA:LW Show 3 Evan Karagias vs Lash Leroux Mike Sanders vs Heartthrob Romeo Jazz vs Destiny 20 man Battle Royale for the NWA:LW show - Competitors, B-Boy, Bob Sapp, Caprice Coleman, Evan Karagias, Glenn Gilberti, Heartthrob Antonio, Heartthrob Romeo, Jorge Estrada, Kid Romeo, Lash Leroux, Mike Sanders, Mistico, Mr. Aguila, Onyx, Pete Gruner, Sean Waltman, Shocker, Slyk Wagner Brown, Xavier and 1 surprise

I got to the arena hoping to see the mystery person Ross was talking about, but he wasn't there along with the other superstars so I decided to keep myself in suspense obviously Ross was very high on this guy. So our 3rd show kicked off.
We kicked off the show with the Evan Karagias/Lash Leroux match.
Evan Karagias vs Lash Leroux This was a decent match. Both men worked a good back and forth match that the crowd was fairly into. Evan Karagias went over with a hold of the tights. Mistico then came out and attacked Karagias, Kid Romeo then made the save on him and Karagias and Romeo walked out saying they'd get Mistico in the battle royale. Winner - Evan Karagias
We were doing some interviews tonight about peoples views on the battle royale. Bob Sapp was up first and he was great on the mic. He started ripping on everyone particularly Pete Gruner. The crowd was majorly against Sapp.
Mike Sanders vs Heartthrob Romeo An average match that saw the tide swing several times. The crowd was again fairly into it. Finish came with Gilberti interfering and accidently hitting Sanders for a roll-up victory for Romeo. Sanders and Gilberti were going to attack Romeo but Antonio shooed them out of the ring. Winner - Heartthrob Romeo
Shocker is backstage on a mic. He says he is going to shock the world by winning the NWA-LW title tonight. Shocker was actually decent on the mic.
Jazz vs Desire This was a decent women's match. Both women worked pretty hard. The crowd was into to it to say the least. Desire shocked Jazz with a Desire Drop for the victory. Jazz then went to attack Desire but Desire threw Jazz out. April Hunter then came out and attacked Desire. It looks like we could build a women's division here. Winner - Desire
Pete Gruner was on the mic, he said he doesn't care what anyone thinks but he was going to throw the last person out of the ring to win. He told Sapp he was not intimidated by him.
Sean Waltman then came and told Gruner to just leave and that Gruner is a nobody and that he would without a doubt dominate the battle royale.
Well it was battle royale time and everyone started filing to the ring. Then Brent Albright hit the ring, quite a nice pickup if I must say, Albright got a very warm reception on his way to the ring.
20 Man Battle Royale for the NWA-LW Title The rules were standard battle royale rules except you could be eliminated by going under the rope. Several superstars grabbed weapons before entering the ring. Evan Karagias stayed onto the outside for the start of the match.
Order of Elimination 1. Mike Sanders by The Heartthrobs 2. Mr. Aguila by Sean Waltman 3. Xavier by Brent Albright 4. Glenn Gilberti by Caprice Coleman 5. Lash Leroux by Kid Romeo 6. Kid Romeo by Mistico 7. B-Boy by the G-Boppers 8. Mistico by Evan Karagias 9. Evan Karagias by Shocker 10. Onyx by Pete Gruner 11. Jorge Estrada by Bob Sapp 12. Caprice Coleman by Bob Sapp 13. Heartthrob Romeo by Bob Sapp 14. Heartthrob Antonio by Bob Sapp 15. Slyk Wagner Brown by Brent Albright 16. Shocker by Sean Waltman
Final Four The final four of Sapp, Waltman, Gruner and Albright lasted a while. The crowd was very much into this and these guys delivered. Albright shocked Waltman by throwing him out. Waltman then grabbed Albright and pulled him out. These 2 brawled in the aisle as referees tried to break them apart and Sapp was thrown out by Gruner with no one watching. Sapp got back into the ring delivered a muscle buster to Gruner and threw him out as Sparks raised Sapp's hand and awarded him the NWA-LW Title as Gruner tried to plead his case and Sapp was celebrating to major heat. Winner and new NWA-LW champion - Bob Sapp
Everybody congratulated Sapp on his way to the back. We were very happy with the battle royale and thought it was our best match so far in terms of crowd heat and the actual match itself. We were looking forward to Sapp's reign and NWA-LW as a whole.
