So, I was bored and I wanted a good DVD to watch. Having WF recently acquire this Comic Board, and having had recently purchased X-Men Legends II, I've been in a comic mood.
I decided I'd pull out the Legend Of Wolverine DVD that I got a while back. It's the cartoon we all know and love. And I have to say, it's one of the greatest animated experiences from American television. Now I demand a full season release of the show, 5 episodes isn't enough. And I want to be able to watch a bunch in a row, not a single episode that ABC Family is trying to pawn off on me now.
Does anyone else feel the love for this series?

I'm never home when it's on, or I'm too busy mast.......playing videogames. That's why I need the DVDs.

I as well would love DVDs. They're right in line after the last two seasons of UCB and the Tick cartoon, I think.

The old Marvel cartoons were awesome. X-Men and Spider-Man both ruled and I used to watch them all the time (I still catch the reruns when I can but its rare). I long for a good Marvel cartoon again.

I don't know what it is but I've been watching the series in order (I've "acquired" them and have put them on disk) and I'm about midway through the forth season. I think it maybe Beast's soothing voice or something because I have yet to make it through a complete episode without dozing off. Well I'm exaggerating a bit, there was one episode, had Cable and Bishop in it, that I actually made it the whole way. Which is beyond me because Cable and Bishop? Sounds like a snooze fest to me. Alladin does it for my girlfriend. First few notes of Arabian Nights, out like a light.
My only beef with it, is that they seem to cram 2 years worth of comic storyline within a half-an-hour episode. Plus I've been reading every X comic in chronological order over the past year and my X-memory gets a bit mucky when I've watched a few episodes.
But it's way better than the Spider-man series of that time. Theme song was Tres Radical but I don't have the same love for it as the X-men episodes. If you watch the whole 5 seasons of Spiderman in order over 2 weeks, his constant whining gets a wee bit tiresome. "I wish I never was Spiderman" What a baby.
As much as I enjoy the X-Men animated series, I find that X-Men Evolution was leaps and bounds above it's predecessor. Anything that has my New Mutants in it is awesome. X-Men Evolution actually made me depressed that I'm not a student at the mansion.

One of my favorite parts of the X-Men cartoon, was Wolverine's voice. Because when I would read comics as a kid, I imagined his voice having that gravely tone.

Speaking of sound adaptions in the cartoon, I absolutely loved the way the Sentinels sound when they walked and talked. So awesome and kind of a terrifying noise.

Like Treball, I too have acquired the entire run of the series, but unlike him I can't find the time to sit down and watch it. I've had it for quite some time as well, but with all the DVDs I purchase I end up trying to get through those first.
The X-Men Animated Series is easily my favorite comic book cartoon. I was never really that big into the comic book world, but grew up watching the comic book cartoons. I would occassionally read my brother's vast collection, which he ended up selling a long time ago, but he was mostly into DC, especially Superman, which I just couldn't get into. I usually just drew the comic book covers as opposed to reading them. Getting back on topic though I think the series was awesome and like others have stated the voice acting in the show was excellent and really captured the essence of each character perfectly. The two that stand out most for me are Wolverine and Magneto, who had this power in his voice that made you realize why he was so powerful.
Since Treball mentioned Evolution I'll comment on that as well. Evolution I think is very underrated as a series. I think that initially it started off way too slow, but over time as it started to build the characters and the relationships between the characters that it started to really take off. The best episode of the show was easily the series finale and I really wish that it had stuck around for at least one more episode because I think it was really starting to peak.

A new series sounds good. I know there's also going to be a new FF animated series, and a Ultimates direct to video movie next year.

I love my Fantastic Four, probably more than the next guy, but I've seen some character designs for it and bleh. It's looks all Anime. I sure don't like me some anime. At all. Although there's a good chance it'll be better than the '90's series, minus the Jonny Storm "Flame On" rap. That was gold.
