Gage and Drake to meet for the gold at "Winner Takes All"!!!
Mar 21, 2008 • posted by B.L.
On April 5th at "Winner Takes All", it will be the old guard of CZW vs the new as two of the Combat Zone's most popular wrestlers meet for the biggest prize in the sport. The original "Future of Hardcore" Nick Gage will put his CZW World Heavyweight Title on the line in perhaps his toughest challenge yet against the young and hungry UVU Champ, Drake Younger. Hardcore CZW fans know this highly anticipated matchup is nearly 2 years in the making.
When a mostly unknown Drake Younger first stepped into the Combat Zone at 2006's Tournament of Death, few predicted he would ever reach the heights he has. On that day, Drake showed the heart, courage, and determination that few possess in not only reaching the TOD finals, but also winning the hearts of CZW's loyal fans. Of course in the finals, he ran in to a CZW legend... Nick F'N Gage.
Gage's legacy in the Combat Zone is unmatched. He is a CZW original, and a true legend in the world of Ultraviolence. In 1999 when he first debuted with CZW, he was known as the "Future of Hardcore". Today, nine years, a few World Championships and a Tournament of Death trophy later, he is known as "The Man" or simply... "Champ".
Since Drake's arrival in the Combat Zone, he and Gage have met in the ring on multiple occasions. In the fall of 2006, Drake recorded what was at the time the biggest win of his career when he defeated Nick Gage for the UVU title in an unforgettable No Rope Barbed Wire match at FEAR. Since that day, Drake and Nick's careers seemingly went in completely opposite directions.
After FEAR, Drake solidified his spot as one of the most popular performers in CZW history, while at the same time Nick Gage began to endure one of the roughest stretches of his not just his career, but his life.
In February of 2007, CZW presented it's eighth year anniversary show, highlighted by what should've been an epic encounter between Nick Gage and his brother, Justice Pain for the CZW Title. However, an early injury (what later turned out to be a broken collarbone and severe concussion) forced Gage out of the match, and put his career, and the status of the main event in serious jeapordy. With Gage out, a packed New Alhambra called out for DRAKE, and sure enough, the bloodied warrior emerged with a spool of barbed wire in his hand, ready for war.
Drake came up short that night, but his legacy as a man of the fans was solidified forever. Nick Gage however would not be seen or heard from in the Combat Zone again for nearly a year... until Cage of Death IX.
At Cage of Death IX in December, Gage re-emerged in the black and yellow ring, and made an immediate impact. The rejuvenated Ultraviolent veteran inserted himself in the World Title Match, and pinned The Messiah to become the new CZW Champion. Since then, it's been all uphill for Gage, just like it has for Drake Younger... and on April 5th in South Philly, the incredibly popular Superstars will meet with the biggest prize in the game on the line.
There's nothing in life that Drake Younger wants more than to be CZW World Champ. There's a popular saying in wrestling that says "...to be the man... you've got to beat the man...". At "Winner Takes All", he'll have to beat the "F'N MAN", if he wants to reach the top of the Ultraviolent mountain. Gage has long been "The Future of Hardcore", but on April 5th that moniker will be put to the test. On April 5th, the future... is now... as Nick Gage and Drake Younger meet for the CZW World Heavyweight Championship.

Team Andrew picks their poison, 2 matches signed for April 5!
Mar 16, 2008 • posted by B.L.
In a video response to the Naptown Dragons posted excusively on CZWrestling.com, Team Andrew answered the challenge from the CZW World Tag Team Champions and picked their "poison" for April 5th's one-on-one encounters between the rival tag teams.
In their original video challenge, the Naptown Dragons claimed they can beat Team Andrew in any style of matchup. On April 5th, that theory will be put to the test as Drew Gulak has chosen to face "Diehard" Dustin Lee in a "Submission" match. Can the hardcore specialist survive on the mat with a polished submission specialist like Drew Gulak?
In the other singles match between the warring tag teams, Andy Sumner will apparently return to the world of Ultraviolence, as he has seemingly challenged Scotty Vortekz to a hardcore war on April 5th's return to the New Alhambra. Sumner is no stranger to the world of Ultraviolence with an appearance in Tournament of Death under his belt, but he'll need to rely on a whole lot more than a one-time experience if he's gonna survive a match with a hardcore veteran like Scotty Vortekz.
The rivalry between CZW's two youngest and hungriest tag teams will continue on April 5th. It's Drew Gulak vs. Diehard Dustin Lee in a Submission Match, and Scotty Vortekz vs. Andy Sumner in a Hardcore War. Who will leave the New Alhambra with momentum in the chase for the CZW World Tag Team Championships?

Lobo orders "Hollywood Necro" to meet Danny Havoc in the ring on April 5!
Mar 19, 2008 • posted by B.L.
In the last couple days, exclusive videos have aired on CZWrestling.com from Danny Havoc, Ian Rotten, Nick Berk and of course Hollywood Dylan Summers showing their reactions coming out of March's "Lights, Camera, CZW..." event. This afternoon, Lobo viewed the corresponding videos and contacted CZWNews to make an announcement for April 5th's return to the New Alhambra.
"This situation is becoming more and more troubling for everyone involved here at Combat Zone Wrestling," said Lobo. "Dylan Summers and Nicky Benz have really gone beyond the boundaries of fair play when it comes to Danny Havoc, to the point where I'm disgusted that I used to consider Summers a friend..."
"I can't force Dylan or Nicky Benz to do anything," continued Lobo. "But, if they are going to show up at the New Alhambra and expect to get paid on April 5th, they are going to have to do it by facing Danny Havoc in that black and yellow ring."
With that, Lobo has ordered that on April 5th, the "Hollywood" Necro Butcher must come face to face with Danny Havoc in the CZW ring whether he likes it or not... or else his days as a paid member of the CZW roster will come to an end.

Brain Damage returns to CZW on April 5!
Mar 27, 2008 • posted by B.L.
At March's "Lights, Camera, CZW..." (available now at , the cyborg known as Brain Damage was set to defend his Iron Man Title against the returning madman known as Insane Lane. Unfortunately, miserable weather conditions on the day of March's show prevented many fans and wrestlers - including Brain Damage from appearing at the New Alhambra.
Instead, Insane Lane faced and defeated Mickie Knuckles in a brutal, hard fought contest which brought the CZW fans to their feet. Now, a month removed from a title opportunity he was unable to receive, Insane Lane brings momentum into this rescheduled title brawl, which he'll need as he faces the biggest match of his CZW career... against the indestructible Brain Damage.
Who will leave the New Alhambra with the gold on April 5 at Winner Takes All? Can Insane Lane keep the momentum rolling and secure a spot on the CZW roster by claiming one of the Combat Zone's biggest prize? Or... will the cyborg prove why he is the baddest man in all of wrestling in defending the Iron Man Championship?

2 Girls, 1 Cup look for revenge at "Winner Takes All"
Mar 24, 2008 • posted by B.L.
Ever since there debut in CZW, things have been all gravy (literally) for the 2 Girls, 1 Cup team of Greg Excellent, Beef Wellington and Nutritional Guru/Piece of Ass Kylie Pierce... that is until February's "Lights, Camera, CZW" event. Moments after a very impressive victory over 2.0 and Cheech and Cloudy, 2 Girls, 1 Cup's victory celebration was ruined when Kylie Pierces jaw and neck were mangled by the big right boot of the unstoppable BRODIE LEE.
As a result, Kylie was stretchered from the ring, taken to the hospital and diagnosed with multiple injuries. The injury leaves her status for April 5th's "Winner Takes All" in question, and also leaves Greg Excellent really... REALLY... hungry. In a video posted exclusively on CZWrestling.com, Greg and Beef issued a challenge to the Miracle Ultraviolence Connection (Cheech, Cloudy and Brodie) for CZW's April 5th return to the New Alhambra, and in a subsequent video, the challenge was accepted.
On Saturday, April 5 at the New Alhambra, the team of 2 Girls, 1 Cup and a partner of their choice will be out for revenge as they square off against the Miracle Ultraviolence Connection of Cheech, Cloudy and Brodie Lee.

Earlier this week on CZWrestling.com, the build to BEST OF THE BEST 8 and TOURNAMENT OF DEATH 7 began with the announcement of the events being held on consecutive weekends on May 10th (BOTB) and May 17th (TOD). With the announcement, we also learned that first official participant in May's CZW tournament season will be determined by the outcome of the first ever "Winner Takes All" match on April 5th's return to the New Alhambra.
The rules of the "Winner Takes All" match are simple. The match is scheduled for one fall and is open to anyone and everyone in the CZW locker room on Saturday, April 5th. The person who records the winning pinfall will be granted access to any CZW tournament they choose, AND, pick their first round opponent. However, if you do choose to enter the match and you are pinned, you are eliminated from consideration for both of May's Best of the Best, and Tournament of Death events.
The 2nd entrant into the "Winner Takes All" match is:
LUFISTO! Lufisto joins PINKY SANCHEZ as a participant in the match.
