Marvel has announced another variant cover/second printing in their current “The Other” crossover arc in the Spider-Man titles.
This time it’s Part 3 of the storyline, Amazing Spider-Man #525, that gets the treatment.
The new cover continues the “variant” Spider-Man theme based on Mike Wieringo variant cover to Part 1 of the story, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (see below for that cover and the “Black Costume variant from Marvel Knights Spider-Man #19).
This time it’s a “Ben Reilly” theme. Whether that is a clue to “The Other” storyline remains to be seen.
The variant is expected to be in stores on November 30th.

I have to say, these are some strange variants! Black costume!? Ben Reilly!?
If we hadn't just got the Black Costume one I'd have a bit of hope that my idea of clearing up why the clones didn't effect the Spider-Totem would come in to play... ending with Morlun killing Kaine dressed as Spider-Man.
However I'm sure its just for the look. Cool variants though.
