The featured figure today, is the Punisher from Marvel Legends 4. Punisher is one of the more underrated ML figures, simply because he was overpacked. For some reason, there are some that think any figure heavily packed is subpar, and any shortpacked figure is automatically great. That's not the case here. Punisher is the crown jewel of series 4, in my opinion, despite only coming with the two guns you see here. This was the first of three ML Punisher figures, the second coming from a boxed set, and being a variation on this one, with a screaming face, different paint, and a cloth jacket. The third, from ML 6, based on Thomas Jane's movie version. This figure was actually re-released with a poster book instead of a comic, but that's the only real difference. For my money, this is still the best version of him, based on the snarl, the stubble, and the scars on the head. He's been out for awhile, but because he was so common, he should be a cheap find on Ebay, or if you have a Walmart or Target that doesn't stock very often. Either way, I highly recommend grabbing him.

This has always been at the top of my list. Such a well done figure. He's fun to play with.

He's a lot of fun to play with. I actually bought a couple TNA figures, just so I could pose him filling someone's ass full of lead.

Yeah, there's a Raven. Abyss makes for a good random thug, to pose with DD, or Punisher.

Punisher is definately on the top of my list when it comes to Marvel figures to acquire, simply because I love the character.
I agree with you totally on one point. Some people act as if short packed figures are great... most short packed figures are pieces of crap. Perfect example: NFL 11 No Helmet Tom Brady. Its goofy, looks nothing like Brady, and is filthy and game posed while wearing no helmet... what sense does that make?
On the contrary: Sin City. The short packed figures were generally the women, granted, I think they are all nice, but my favorite figure to pose, and fool around with is the ever so common Marv. Simple, easy to find, cheap on eBay, but great none the less.

Don't get me wrong, some of the shortpacked figures are great, but most of them are on the same level, or lower than the normal packed figures. Case in point, Red Skull and Goliath were two of the hardest to find figures to come out of Marvel Legends, but they also may have been the biggest pieces of crap to come out of ML too. But Punisher here, as well as ML 8 Iron Man, were relatively easy to find, and both were awesome pieces.

I know the feeling. I actually think Red Skull is a lousy figure, from just seeing it in pictures. However, people covet it because its rare. On the other hand, my McFarlane T-800 with Coffin was pretty easy to find, but its one of the most bad ass figures ever made.

In all the times I've seen grubby Hot Wheels scalpers digging through Sportspicks, it has never occured to me any of them might be rare. And if you aren't accquainted with the Hot Wheels guys, consider yourself lucky.

Nope, can't say I am. I didn't even know there were rare hotwheels... I know McFarlane Scalpers, Star Wars scalpers and Marvel Scalpers, unfortunately.

Basically, they collect Hot Wheels, but suppliment their hobby by scalping other lines. Usually, they're after "Treasure Hunt" cars, which are basically chase pieces. If they can't find them, they dig through the Sportspicks, ML or whatever else, and buy the rare pieces, to scalp on Ebay, so they can afford to pay another scalper for a Hot Wheels car. They're pretty obnoxious, as they run to the toy aisle, grab crapfrom people's hands, and usually wear flannel.

At my Toys'r'us & Kb-Toys by my house the Hot Wheels Guys are always there right when it opens. I don't have to worry about anything else really.

You forgot that they are usually wearing some trucker like hat too with their flannel. I like it when they complain to the workers about there being no chases in the box of Sportspicks. I overheard one ask about cases and since there were some I stuck around with the scalper until they brought them out. Talk about your uncomfortable silence.

I was going to get that, but decided to get ML6 instead. Bad choice... I actually like the ML6 figure, but the fact that it's a movie figure makes me dislike it to a certain extent and the ML4 Punisher is far more superb. I'd try and track it down if you can.

I love this figure. My favorite Marvel Legends figure with Captain America being a close 2nd.
