I kept reading that it was supposed to be Daredevil. After the first arc (And the first issue of this arc) it was hinted it was Daredevil... but Bendis kept saying it wasn't. This is in New Avengers. The hand print has something to do with her dad death. She paints it on... someone who knows the character care to explain? |

I believe it's to represent the handprint left on her face by her father when he died, an "echo" from her past.
The only solid info info I know about her is: her father was killed by Kingpin, she ended up actually being raised by Fisk because her father worked for him, fell in love with Matt, Fisk said Daredevil killed her father, she learns Bullseyes moves, almost kills Daredevil, Daredevil explains, she shoots Fisk in the face. Oh, and she's deaf.

Hey Brian, not everyone reading New Avengers has read your Daredevil run! In fact, the majority of New Avengers readers haven't read your DD run! So the majority of your audience has no frickin' clue who Echo is! Way to make that reveal mean something!

Humorously enough, this was revealed prior to her ever being revealed in the actual book in the "Avengers Ultimate Guide" that recently came out.

Echo sucks
Her storyline in Bendis Daredevil with Mack was possibly the worst storyarch ever...it was just her sitting in the woods around a fire...
Captivating...
Bendis has a boner for echo and everytime i see her i have shrinkage...
damn it.
