I went to Walmart in Howell, MI tonight and found they had put out new Spider-man figures in funky new packaging. The line is now called "The Amazing Spider-man" and is mostly a light blue color. They had two Man-Wolf figures, so I grabbed them. The back of the packaging shows a kick ass looking Venom that looks to surpass the Sinister Six boxset version. Sadly, he was sold out. I was really surprised to see the series out because I haven't heard anything about it's release at all. Man-Wolf is a weird figure. He has a massive "backpack" that looks more like a jetpack. If you push a button on it, it makes a howling sound, makes his mouth open, and lights up the moongem on his throat. His articulation is really stiff, so I will probably boil him tomorrow. Here's a picture I found off eBay:

Do they make a venom that doesn't have a ridiculous tongue hanging from his mouth?

Do they make a venom that doesn't have a ridiculous tongue hanging from his mouth? I'm almost POSITIVE that other people have said the tongue is removable. The Venom looks to be HUGE though, which is really cool. The packaging is pretty spiffy too.

And the Sinister Six box set Venom has a closed mouth, no ridiculous tongue sticking out.

If you don't like the tongue on the new sweet Venom, you could always just cut it off.

The tongue's removable, but why would you want to remove it? I'd like to get that Man-Wolf to add to my Spidey villains shelf.

Just saw those tonight, I am not really into the marvel legends stuff anymore I am sticking to movie figures since I love the actors as figures. Although since I used to collect the SM villians I checked them out to change my mind but other then the sweet size venom is nothing too special, didnt even check out the spidermans theres so ing many and the manwolf did not get my attention at all I didnt like it. I ended up walking out with 2 Julian McMahon F4 figures.

My WM had 3 venoms, SM classics dont move at all around here we still have Mysterios lieing around like their uncommon or something. The only thing marvel that sells around here at ML varients otherwise nothing else moves for days even weeks.

One didn't have the new series and the other had 2 Spider-man figures left.

Okay, last night I found the new Venom at that same Walmart (guess they had more cases).
First of all, the tongue is NOT removable. (If you do remove it, I doubt you would be able to put it back in.)
Second, the head is rubber, like the Morbius figure. In fact, like the Morbius figure, he has a lame button on his back to make his mouth move slightly.
Third, since the head is rubber, it doesn't move at all.
The figure disappointed me somewhat. However, he is huge, especially compared to the SS boxset Venom. So sculpt wise the new one is superior.

Glad you finally got your venom.....my WM still has the same 3 and like 8 Man wolfs lol.
Its prolly why I stopped buying them I was more intrigued by them when I couldn't find them anywhere.

I also hate that new packaging the red was so much more suiting or maybe a black would be nice but for some reason the blue just reminds me of the Playskool styled marvel figures they made a few years ago for like 3 years where wolverine was a fireman or something. But whatever long as they dont come in the stupid ing ML/Mcfarlane/Neca clam shell style packaging I am happy as hell. I really hate those style I would rather have a mint in card figure then one that is in a package that scratch bends warps or just flat out looks ugly

The scissors help with the twist ties, though. I do prefer the ease of removing the figures from Spider-man packaging. I don't hate the new packaging, although the light blue seems more pleasing a color than the previous packaging. I wouldn't mind a bold blue, like on Spider-man's costume.
