Ok, I know some of you are reading this, so I ask...
Did they just kill ALL of the Flashs(or is it Flashi)? I mean, its what it seemed like. At least in some fashion. Though I will be honest and say it's probably best to bid Wally aideu sans Geoff Johns. I highly doubt anyone will ever be able to make him as interesting as he did, so "killing him off" isnt that awful.
Also, nice choice on the new Spectre. Out of left field, sure, but good choice nonetheless.
It'll be interesting to see where it all goes from here. But it'll suck if they dont have a Flash anymore. I see perhaps some shades of Alex Ross's version sneaking into the DCU.

Personally i could care less about the flash or flashes. I really like this issue. I liked the whole attack on the earth-2 (or wherever) superboy with him exploding people's heads when he pucnhed them. Pretty awesome stuff. My favorite part was the whole Nightwing and Batman thing. Where Batman was asking him if he enjoyed the early years and Nightwing told him they were the best. Touchy feely but i really liked it.

It's hard to say. I think Wally's going to be around till. But Jay did say the Speed Force was gone. Maybe they'll finally retire him.
The stuff with Batman in IC has been incredible.

I have been loving Infinite Crisis. OMG they destroyed Bludhaven! That was sweet!
The other day I visited my local comic shop and dropped $30 on just DC titles. It shows how much better they are at storytelling, 10 years ago I was all Marvel.

um....why is Nightwing doomed? I think we need a damn big topic to keep all the rumors straight. Is he going to die, too? Damn, when DC cleans house, they dont F around. And I agree-THIS is how an epic crossover is done. I havent had this rush of an epic since Infinity Gauntlet, where each issue was awaited so much and each page had a holy crapmoment. The best part is nothing feels showhorned to BE a surprise. It feels organic, like each even is naturally the effect of the previous. Superboy going mental, then losing it even MORE because he realizes he's going nuts, Wally West rushing into stop him and then Bart Allen doing his hero thing (and Johns deserves MEGA credit for bringing Barry Allen back TWICE this year and not making either of these incident feel forced or as a stunt, and thats AFTER properly bringing back Hal Jordan). This is why most of my comic $$$ go to DC anymore. Marvel is just...not very good beyond three or four books. And none of those come out on a regular schedule anyway. 5 will be one hell of a show. Superman vs Superman. If anyone can make Superman not seem lame, it'll be Johns. |

Also, there's a new Nightwing One Year Later. Damn...New Nightwing, new Catwoman, new Batgirl, new Spectre, new Blue Beetle...hope they leave a few people as the original people at this point. Ad I think Grayson might just retire. and it'd be a much more refreshing change from the constant "the only way to make it mean anything is to kill them" mentality. |
