"New Serenity Comics due from Dark Horse
Dark Horse confirmed at their panel at WonderCon that they will continue to publish a Serenity comic under the direction of Joss Whedon!
The company will also produce the continuation of Buffy the Vampire Slayer picking up the story of "Season 8" of the series that went off the air after Season 7.
No word yet when the titles will actually be available for purchase."
Hopefully the Buffy one's set in europe to coincide with Angel season 5.

If Joss is over seeing the production he'll make sure the writers make it fit in his universe, or atleast that any changes they do make makes sense and doesn't screw up what he's already set in place.
I can't wait for the Serenity comic! That show and movie was f'ing awesome!

Yay! More Buffy! It might be weird though, because the Angel charcaters would obviously be off-limits since IDW has the rights to those. Does that mean Spike's off limits? High-school Cordelia if they do flashbacks? Andrew? I'm curious to see how that works out.
And since we'll probably never see a Serenity II, producing comics is awesome. Hopefully we'll find out some of the mystery surrounding Book from Firefly that obviously wouldn't be adressed in possible future movies.

Problem they have with the Season 8 Buffy stuff is that they have to include all the stuff mentioned in Angel Season 5 as the time periods would be the same. This means Andrew being a watcher & Buffy's relationship with 'The Imortal'

They mentioned it on the show (His Alliance Clearence when he needs a medic) and they even brought it up on the film... just for them to kill him off! They better clear that up, at the very least Whedon should say what he was planning in an interview or something. |

Wow this is great news about the buffy comics. The IDW comics are a little confusing as i missed the begining so im a bit unsure about but still cool.

The new Buffy/Angel mag reports that Joss is writing the new Buffy coming & he has done half of the first issue already!! Looks like Serenity's been shafted in terms of Joss's attention.  |

I have accepted that the Buffyverse is finished, and have moved on since the Summer of 2005 (when the SaveAngel Campaign died off).
It's always good to have these sorts of memories for the tea times in the Summer of our later days, but for now, I just don't want to have anything to do with the Buffyverse unless it's something live-action with the actors I've come to love.
