Do any of you here attend comic/anime/sci-fi cons at all? Just curious.
I usually only get to one, maybe two. I do have fun-being around people more odd then me. I'm going to DragonCon this year. I have some friends I've known for years that want me to go every year, but something always screws up and I can't go. Not this year, though.
So how about it: any of you folks attending/attended anything this year?

I go to a few comic ones and a few horror ones. I wanna go to the Wizard World in Chicago in August. I've never been there and it seems badass. I have no idea who to go with though, seeing as I know zero people who are into that stuff.

I missed the Emerald City Comiccon this year, because it was one week after Sakuracon, the local anime convention, and I pretty much was out of money by then. Plus, I try not to spend too much time in Seattle, and two weekends in a row up there....*shudders*

I've already been to the Paradise Con in Toronto, and helped my friend with his Sunday in Syracuse where Marv Wolfman was the guest of honor, and 100% nicest guy possible.

I usually go to StarFest every year in Denver. My fiancee's parents are into sci-fi big time, so I took them and they had such a blast! It is fun to see people weirder than you, huh?

I went last year as a VIP and we got totally screwed over by Wizard. $150 should at LEAST let me get in line earlier or something. We had 4 special signing and an extra comic or two. They, of course, fixed that THIS year, and people said the year before was better. Figures the year I do it, its ass backwards. This year I'm going one day and whatever I get I get. I'm looking more forward to DragonCon in Atlanta. George Romero is there, and a few of my friends are of the "hot cosplayer" types. ;D

I went to the first (and last) Wizard World Boston last fall. Good time, lots of comics, good chance to pick some cool stuff up.
I go to random action figure shows too, since my dad is a huge Star Wars collector.

Go to HeroesCon. Its JUST comics. No anime, no Sci-Fi, nothing but pure comics. Great place for sketches and autos. I want to go next year myself. Can't this year.
I got hooked on getting con sketches about a year ago. I'll post a few sometime.

Consdering where I live, it'd be really expensive to go there. Wizard World Chicago is probably a lot cheaper, and bigger city means better perks (shuttle to and from airport and to and from convention center, meaning no need to rent a car). Plus I WWC is second in size only to San Diego, so you get more bang for your buck. Of course the downside is Wizard World is Wal-Mart to HeroesCon's small-town store, so I'd probably have a better time at HeroesCon. I hope to make it to WWC this year, as I've attended the last two and really enjoyed it.

Yeah, Wizard actually tried to run HeroesCon out of business by running a con the same weekend and fans/creators called foul and Wizard backed down. I have really become disillusioned by Wizard with past experiences. They might have the connections to put on BIG shows, but they are poorly organized cluster s

Don't get to go this year due to work. . . .
