He doesn't really have the passion for it anymore. There's a good sit-down interview with him on YouTube where he mentions WWE and TNA and confesses he's just not interested in wrestling at all anymore. He doesn't even watch it.
He did say that if Paul were to somehow book a show he'd consider.

Yeah cause..... That's from Nashville last year.... Yes because out of the loads of people in the US, we should care what one city believes? New York loves RVD Chicago loves RVD Orlando, Los Angeles, and many more love RVD. So who cares if Nashville boos him? Detroit loves RVD  I watched the RAW XV vid someone posted and found out that I really miss RVD in a ring. and I havent until I watched the video. Kinda the same thing about Jericho last year |

I'm kind of on the fence about him. I think he is a good wrestler, but fairly overrated. He is a lot like Jeff Hardy in the fact that his high spots overshadow how athletic he really is. I wouldn't mind seeing him back, but I wouldn't be so excited I couldn't sleep.

I think RVD is fine but I refuse to take him as a credible main eventer for a couple of reasons. His mic work is just piss poor, and he fails to adapt, his character has grown stale and has no depth. I liked seeing him in the IC belt scene (or the ECW belt), but that's about all I could take. Also RVD fans are so obnoxiously annoying it's a tick against the guy. The whole "Same old crap" chants at ONS to Cena were so hypocritical it's sad. But I would not be opposed to seeing him come back, he's an exciting guy to watch and I'd like to see his return.
