I watched the match at Lockdown and couldn't help but see that the X Division was treated as a joke.
Firstly out of the six competitors, two were gimmicks related to former WWE wrestleres (Lethal and Shark Boy) and you had Curry Man. Then the champion, to retain the title needed help from Sonjay Dutt. I just cannot see this as them taking the X Division seriously.
Here's my solution and it doesn't involve any new signings, just some common sense booking and can be done in two months.
Lethal should keep the title till say Slammiversary. Have him defend the belt successfully over Johnny Devine at Sacrifice. Have Devine beat him down, just a filler till Slammiversary really. Maybe have Sonjay come out and help him aswell, like stop Devine using a weapon or something.
Also at Sacrifice have an undercard match of Shark Boy vs Curry Man vs Consequences Creed vs Sonjay Dutt, or something like that. Have Creed take the win, some opportunistic way, not sure really.
Then leading up to Slammiversary have the Super X Cup, or some sort of tournament for the number one contendership. Have Devine vs Sonjay in semis and Creed vs SharkBoy or Curry Man. Sonjay and Creed end up in the final where Creed gets the win, using a weapon, or some heel like tactic.
At Slammiversary Lethal then drops the belt to Creed, by Sonjay running in and costing Lethal the belt. Sonjay can say that he's always helping Lethal and Lethal didn't help him against Creed.
So then, next PPV have a three way or something, let the storylines continue. Gives the X Division storylines, credibility, good champion and actually have a reason to fight for, instead of mindless matches
