Well I am kinda bored and I don't think I have ever asked on here if anyone played poker. I started playing about a year ago. We play small home games each week for like $10-$20 buyins usually about 8 people. Also go out to the casino some and play some small $1/$2 no limit cash games. Also play poker on pokerstars which is alright but I am on a small bankroll right now trying to build it up. Best night I ever had was at a cash game at the casino.. I bought in with $60 and walked out 4 hours later with $1,000. I am trying to win some satelites on pokerstars currently that will get you a seat in the world series of poker coming up in a few months (the buyin to have a seat at that tourney is $10,000) top prize around 10 million.

Play occasionally at home. registered before with some online poker site and got bored in a few hours (Green Joker Poker i think).
Used to have weekly games.
I think i played about 100 or so games in my life, and i won about 2 of them. Although the best experience was when we were playing and i won a constest on the radio for two RAW tickets.
Yes. I am not good at cards at all.

I don't enjoy risking and (usually) losing money. Just not my thing. I prefer to stick my extra cash in my Roth where, sooner or later, I will have more money.

I play in person but not online. I got addicted to online poker and ended up having to get my card blocked from using poker sites because I couldn't stop gambling haha.

Yes, I do both.
My friends and I have been playing for about 4 years now. Some have been playing longer. We're getting pretty good now. When we went to Las Vegas last year, three of us joined a 100-person, $100 buy-in tournament. Two of us split heads up for $1,500/ea. The other one of us placed 4th for $500. It was a GLORIOUS run for us, to say the least, and we all left Vegas with money in our pockets.
My best night of a cash game was sitting down at about 8:00pm with $100 at a $2/4 pot limit hold 'em table on Full Tilt Poker. I left the table at about 4:00am with almost $1300 in my account. It felt great. I actually thought I was really good that night... Then I realized that I was just decent, but I got lucky. Hahaha.

I play, but I haven't done so in quite a while, the friend I always played with got shipped off to Iraq, so I haven't had anyone to play with for a while.
But when he gets back I plan on pulling one hell of a session.

I like live poker. I've seen too many crazy running cards after the flop, online.

You couldn't pay me enough to play with real money. I might be open to playing with funny money, but not the real stuff. I've got none I can afford to lose and like I said, I'd rather fund my Roth than some other guys gambling habit.

If you're a better/smarter player than the other guy, you're going to end up being in the positive over the long run.

My brother plays all the time. Obviously I'm not old enough to actually go to casinos, but he taught me how to play Texas Hold 'Em a long time ago, and I play with him every now and then..

Oh yeah, I play all the time whenever I can. Just in the last week, I've been on a roll in live poker games at this weekly game that my friend holds. Finally, after a couple of months of bad luck, I finally had turned it around, and made a profit. Online Poker, there's always some crazy runner-runners, it's not exciting, but yeah.

There's some truth to that to be sure, but for every poker player who's sucessful and makes decent money there are hundreds who are losing their shirts.
