I got my first piece of original art today. A comic shop in the UK called Forbidden Planet were running a contest where if you added the comic "Criminal" to you subscription you'd get a chance to win an original piece of art from the comic's artist, Sean Phillips. It turned out I won and my price came today! Sorry about the watermark thing. I love it! I'm getting it framed and stuck up on my wall. For those who haven't read Criminal it's the first arcs main character Leo and Greta. Anyone who loves films about bank robberies, big heists and general stories about "smart" crime should check the comic out or when the graphic novel when it hits book stores. It's amazing! Brubaker and Phillips are one of the best creative teams in the industry. So, do you have any original art? Post pictures if you have some. I love to see all the art people get and it feels cool that I actually have my first piece.

That's pretty cool. AND, on top of that, I have really enjoyed the Criminal series as well.

I've been looking on eBay for original art... they're usually extremely expensive.
I do however have Iron Fist #13 signed by Stan Lee and John Byrne

I'm a con junkie, so I have a lot of sketches from doing that. I've paid for a few, but most you get for free (or a donation). That's pretty much the only reason I go anymore. Once you start, you really get hooked. Here's Adam Hughes (considered a holy grail for sketches). I'll post a few more later

I would love to go to a con sometime, sadly we get no concs near me.

I love the Zatanna sketch. I actually do have a Lando Calrissian sketch that was drawn for me at Celebration 3 in indianapolis. Even though I am a part owner of a comic store, I rarely go to conventions. I will probably start going more, and getting original art is a nice incentive.

few more: Randy Green Black Cat Mark Brooks Black Cat (a favorite character). BTW-Brooks is a really great dude. If you have the opportunity, get something from him. I have another Brooks in my sketchbook. I'm just a part of his fanbase, but they recognize me at his table-that's pretty cool. Michael Turner. He rarely sketches anything at cons anymore, but catch him in a good mood and when he's not busy and you may get lucky. He's still my favorite artist (crazy Supergirl notwithstanding) so this is my favorite piece. I also like its different in that he did it on a lunchbox lid. Phil Noto Zatanna. I got this and Hughes in the same day. I was lucky because, like Adam, he has a long list and kinda picks and chooses. Since they were next to each other, I just had Noto do a Zatanna, too, since I hadn't seen him do one before. I have more in sketchbooks, on a few comics and some in frames.

Ken Lashley, who's currently on board the Flash, will do free sketches at shows. At the last one I went to, he did this: Yeah, no Adam Hughes or anything, but suck it.

Hell, I love a decent quick freebie over what I have to pay for. Free is ALWAYS nice.
Is that Apocalypse on a little bike?

even better Ok, here's the majority of all I have. I'm not rubbing it in anyone's faces. These are from standing/sitting in a LOT of lines for a long time. But it keeps me busy at cons instead of spending money. ;D Lara Croft by Mike Choi (current Witchblade artist and a BIG sunovabitch) Black Cat by Dustin Ngyun(sp?). He didnt really like doing women because he thought they all came out the same, but it came out really good. Logan by John Romita Jr. Sheer luck I got this. I missed him earlier, but he was wandering around the Marvel booth and just kinda sat down with Joey Q, Mark Brooks, and Skottie Young and wanted to do more sketching. The staffers cut off sketches shortly after I got mine. A genuinely cool guy Batman by Skottie Young Rogue by Mark Brooks Black Cat by Malin, Ekimos by Humberto Ramos (my first sketch), and Wonder Woman by Micah...oh, damn, I can't recall his last name. He's a Aspen Studios artist. Black Cat by Francis Manupaul and Green Goblin by Sal Buscema (cool ass old school guy. Loved overhearing his stories) Chun-Li by some Udon artist, Wonder Woman by Ale Garza, and Chun-Li by Francis Manupaul

I'd LOVE a Romita Jr.
And I got to hang around Francis for a while when my friend put on a con. Him and his girl Agnes Grabowska(?) are both great artists and cool people. And she's a real cutie.

I'd LOVE a Romita Jr. And I got to hang around Francis for a while when my friend put on a con. Him and his girl Agnes Grabowska(?) are both great artists and cool people. And she's a real cutie. I would love a JRJR sketch too, shame he's limiting the ammount of stuff he releases.

LIEFELD? You're dead to me. ONLY because he helped create my favorite character... I'd much rather Brooks.
