Simple question, do you think MVP will retain the title this Sunday and (presumably) go on to mark a year as United States Champion? Personally I think he will, I'm pretty sure he'll retain over Hardy tomorrow. I personally think it would be silly to have the "I'm better than you gimmick" and not have him exploit that with a giant celebration marking his anniversary of winning the belt. Just a thought anyway.

I don't see why he wouldn't. He hasn't really defended it in months, I don't see them starting anytime soon.

Yes and I hope he does. When he loses it have him lose it in a Ladder Match to Matt Hardy. Would the 1 Year reign still count as a 1 Year Reign if MVP lost it to Matt Hardy at Judgment Day?

For some reason, Smackdown records never stand the test of time. (As in a year)
Examples include:
John Bradshaw Layfield WWE Champion June 27, 2004 - April 3, 2005 250 Days
Dave Batista World Heavyweight Champion April 3, 2005 - January 10, 2006 282 Days
Paul London and Brian Kendrick WWE Tag Team Champions May 21, 2006 - April 17, 2007 331 Days
and now Montel Vontavious Porter United States Champion May 20, 2007 - *present* 342 Days
He needs a victory at Backlash, and to make it another 2 weeks, at least till the week before Judgement Day.

I really don't care haha, it won't make a difference either way...it's the US Championship.

No, Matt will snag the win and will most likely take on one of the ECW crew, Elijah or Benjamin would be perfect. I just think MVP will be stepping up to Taker soon, he will probably take on Dave at Judgement Day, then Taker once Edge is dealt with in a Cell at JD. Wishful thinking but i can dream, it's not a bad one.

I think he'll keep it until Night of Champions. I think that since this year is the 1st "official" Night of Champions, hopefully they'll go w/ a lot of unexpected title changes

I hope not. It's gone one long enough. Having the belt not defended much really wasn't very good.

I think they should have him retain tomorrow night and just have rid of the belt from him at Judgement Day just to mark the one year anniversary of him winning the belt, then that's it leave him out the title picture, he's done next to nothing with the belt and he's only ever had about 5 defenses if that from what I recall.

If he loses it at Judgment Day, it won't be 1 year since he has the title because he won it May 20th, and Judgment Day is May 18th.

he is going to keep it for a while, until ONS/Great American Bash at least, (IRONY) and the hes probly gonnahave a couple of big time matches, maybe against Edge, Punk, Taker, Tista win them all and finally get a title shot. they wouldnt leave tha title on him for practicly a year if they didnt see world title material in him
