We know that Hulk Hogan became one of the biggest heels in histiry in WCW with the nWo, and alot of people have credited that heel turn to the response he was getting at the time as a face (being booed, the fans were tired and red and yellow, etc.) But this type thing happened to Hogan a few times before his eventual heel turn. I can remember two instances in the late 80s and early 90s, one in which Jake Roberts was being cheered over Hogan (he talks about it in his DVD) and in 92 when Sid Justice was being cheered over Hogan (around the Rumble). Jake was moved away from Hogan and Sid was turned heel. Do you think, in these or any other instance, a heel turn for Hogan would have been as successful? Personally, I dont think it would have worked in the 80s, but I think he could have gotten over as a heel in 92 or 93.

i think he should have turned heel in 1990 - 1993 before he left wwf..maybe after warrior beat him at wm 6..hogan went out to get the belt...should have smacked warrior in the face with it ..that would have been cool.

I don't know if Hogan as a heel would have worked in WWE. Maybe around 1993 but by then everything involving Hogan started to get weird anyways.

Hogan turning heel in the WWE probably would have been met in about the same reaction.

It wouldn't have worked... People would have more likely felt betrayed and left...
In WCW he was perfect, he wasn't seen as there guy anyway.

It prob wouldn't work.
He was the guy who represented the WWF. He had turned heel, it would of just been...weird. In WCW on the other hand, he was just an outsider (no pun intended). He wasn't a WCW guy. He was a WWF guy in WCW. Which is why he fitted so well with Nash and Hall as the nWo.

It would have worked, but it would be bad business for the W.W.F

No. I'll tell you why too...
The WWF and Vince McMahon weren't going to change back then. They weren't going to let their wrestlers "loose" like WCW did and try different things. During the "Attitude Era", yes, Hogan turning heel would have worked. But not in the early '90s. The WWF was still putting out a kids product and there was no way McMahon was going to turn Hogan heel. Even if he did it wouldn't have been as exciting or as good as Hogan turning heel in WCW.
WCW was blowing away the WWF creatively when the nWo started. There was no way the WWF would have ever pulled that off back then. It wasn't until Vince Russo pushed McMahon to go in a different direction that McMahon became willing to change the product.
