For franchise I play at 3 minute quarters, just so I don't get totally bored with franchise. But usually with Exhibition games, I'll do 5 minutes.

Really? I've done that once, with a friend. The final score was like 109-102 or something ridiculous like that. We didn't want to play Madden for like a week after that .
Okay, anyone else feel that injuries happen WAY too often in this game? I have atleast one, every game. Most of the time, they are minor ones, and it says 'they will return soon', until today. In my franchise game versus Chicago, Adrian Peterson broke his ribs, and he's gonna be out for 11 weeks! And then, Chester Taylor comes in, and gets a bruised sternum. He's out for the game. This sucks

I just wish this game had harder achievements, next time I decide to play I'll have 1000G. I would have already gotten the 2 achievements I need, but I had to leave to my girlfriends house in the 3rd quarter. oh please. your gamerscore is 10,000, that ain't ****. It's not like you're a huge achievement go getter. stop complaining. not to mention, i'm sure you'll be able to return 2 punts, 2 kicks, get 6 rushing td's with the dolphins. score 60 in a rival game, get 7 pass td's with the falcons.............all in 1 sitting. enjoy having your ass combine with the couch.

Do any of you guys have Head Coach? I got Madden just assuming the playbooks would be pretty much unchanged and I found like 2 plays I'm familiar with. So my plan is to rent this game, and after that is there a way I can just pick and choose plays and put them in a playbook and then import it to Madden?

Is anyone actually good at returning kick offs and/or punts?
I seriously blow at it. I have Ginn, so it shouldnt be this big of a problem, but I'll get to about the 25-30 yard line before being dominated by 6 guys.
I've tried to sprint the whole time, wait for my blocks then sprint past them, just do crazy juke moves, take it to the other side of the field.
None of that works for me. Any help?

I usually only get to the 20-25 yard line, although I have broken one for td in my franchise with the falcons, which btw, I am 2-2 with so far.

I returned 4 in one game with Hester, and i get to atleast the 40, 9 times out of 10.

I have Hester and Johnson (100, and 97 speed) and I still only get to about the 35 yard line, 40 if I do good.

I Constitly get to the 40. What i do is, i take the returner that didn't get the ball kicked to him and move him right in front of the runner who is about to get the ball. When i get the ball i head left, moving all my blockers in the same direction and the first defender i juke and usually brake the tackle and get to 35-45 every time. I also have Devin Hester though.

"Constitly"..............."brake"............... you're a lions fan..........and you have hester? Blah, your strategy sounds terrible. It depends alot on the team you're facing. if i'm facing the dolphins or some crap team i can break one atleast once a game guaranteed, but if you're facing the pats or a fairly good team you really need to time your jukes. The "Special Teams Challenge" in NCAA '09 helped out alot as far as timing and following blocks, but if you don't have it. i recommend playing the Rushing Attack mini game, (if they still have it in), and trying to break runs ONLY by juking, no truck stick. Also i run to the left 99% of the time if that matters.

I have the mighty Darren Sproles and the best I've done was the 50 yard line. I guess it's about being patient and finding the right holes.

As for quarter length, I like doing 5-minute quarters with accelerated clock on (except for 4th quarter). It probably ends up being around 3-3.5 min quarter length equivalent.
I played both the 360 (friend's) and PS2 (mine) version today. And I have to say that while the 360 one looks amazing, the PS2 one is still more fun in my opinion.

The game I played an hour ago, I returned 2 with Darren Mcfadden with the radiers in my franchise.
