Well, I've finally realized why the difficulty in Madden 09 is so frustrating with me and why I'm going to just start playing on one of the set difficulties. Madden IQ is essentially Rubber Band AI (a racing game "feature") but for football. What happens is your MaddenIQ adjusts during the game based on how well you're playing. This is a good idea on paper until the game decides that because you got 3 touchdowns (even though they are just to keep the game tied with the AI) that you're doing too well and cranks the difficulty up so high that everything gets harder than what MaddenIQ was supposed to make it: challenging, but still possible to win.
It's a nice feature, but they'd be better off basing it off of the TrueSkill matchmkaing system, in the sense that once you've played a bunch of games and haven't made any significant improvements, the settings stay the same. And not have any adjustments during the game. That way if your IQ is 450 which is just low enough to be potentially be too easy, it stays too easy during the game, gives you the win, and then make any adjustments it needs afterwards.

I'm using the Titans right now, and I'm like 9-2, all my games are really close though...

I kinda agree with ya, mole. It's an awesome idea, but this is the first year, and it could/should improve in the next couple years.
But, I think I've gotten the hand of this game a lot more. I'm doing fine with passing, and my running is greatly improving. I believe I'm 3-1-1 in my 2009 Vikes season now. Booty is my starter, and he just had an awesome game vs. Lions. 5 TDs, 300+ yards.

One thing that I will certainly say in 09's favor is that it has made me a lot better at passing. I've gotten a lot better at moving around and scanning the screen and seeing what, if any, receivers are open.

Same here. I love the new camera angles. It lets you see a lot more of the field. btw, anyone experience any glitches yet? I noticed that the glitch where players can walk through the wall behind the endzone still exists

I had a weird graphical glitch where I'd get weird vertical lines over certain things in the transition cutscenes, the replays and in the background during gameplay.

That's because it's an efffect, I believe. The replay screen is suppose to look like a screen. Unless, I'm mis-understanding what you are saying.
Oh, and also twice I've had an Xbox message thing come up saying the disc is un-readable, and I need to clean it, and restart my console. Anyone else ever get this? And it's only happened during the loading screen before a game (the one that shows the NFL facts)

To whoever it was that told me that I should just run the play like its designed and not sprint the whole time, thank you. It seriously does help alot. Also, I had an outside handoff and did like I should, followed the blockers, and I broke one of for an 80 yard td with Ricky against the Pats.
But anyways, do any of you guys have Head Coach? I got Madden just assuming the playbooks would be pretty much unchanged and I found like 2 plays I'm familiar with. So my plan is to rent this game, and after that is there a way I can just pick and choose plays and put them in a playbook and then import it to Madden?

A lot of people just don't get that.

The last Madden I bought was 07. I'm still playing on a PS2. Is it worth it to get 09 on the PS2? I hope to upgrade to a PS3 sometime in the next year, but that isn't a guaruntee.

It's probably not worth if for the PS2 version, just wait till you get a PS3.

I just wish this game had harder achievements, next time I decide to play I'll have 1000G. I would have already gotten the 2 achievements I need, but I had to leave to my girlfriends house in the 3rd quarter.

How do I put people on my custom team? I made outfits, Jam Master Jay Memorial Field, and the My Adidas Area. I want a place for The Kings Of Rock to play.

I noticed that the glitch where players can walk through the wall behind the endzone still exists The only thing I have had that jacks me up in the game is when I scramble with the QB and right before I turn to run up the sideline the camera goes towards a weird ed up angle before it goes to the normal "madden" cam. And I run out of bounds with nobody around me because of the cameras.

The games at 5 take 30-45 min which is long enough. This game is so good I may have to install a toilet in front of my tv.

I've been playing to franchises. A fantasy team and the real Bengals. I'm 0-2 in both... I like the new Madden IQ, I think its a little off tho. Cause, I mean, I got almost All-Madden in passing, and it's gone down every game. I think its cause the test is a little easier than a real-game situation. I mean, yea I can complete a pass to my only receiver but, its kinda hard to pass to any one of up to five receivers when there are CB's and Linebackers running around too. And for some reason in my superstar mode, I am a WR and I got drafted by the Giants and I have like 85 speed and I return punts and kickoffs. Isn't there somebody faster than that who can return stuff on the Giants?
