Wait, your saying that if I had continued vs the comp I wouldve gotten a win? Goddamnit! I just chose quit. I dont understand why other sports games make it that if you quit you lose, but they cant make it like that in madden. Stupid stupid stupid.

I know in Madden 08' if a guy quits a game and it says "do you want to continue vs the CPU" and you do and you win, it gives you a "W". I didnt realize it until after the fact that I just ended at least ten games that should have been victories for me.
If you just decide like me that its stupid to play the computer then you don't get anything. Though sometimes its given me a loss if i dont play which I dont understand. I do know that if you choose to play the computer and you lose the game then it counts against you even though technically you are playing the computer. Now Ive never had that happen but I would hope that if I lost to the computer that the quitter doesnt get a win.
I dont know if its the same in 09 but I'd assume so since it sounds like they didnt fix a damn thing as far as that is concerned. I only know that its stupid and confusing. Basically if you are offered to play the computer I'd say take it because if you win it shows up on your record.

Ok, well the play the cpu worked and i got a win. But connectiopn to your opponet happend to me again when i was up, and it doesnt ask if u want to play the cpu when that happens so now istead of being 4-1 im 1-1. But oh well, I guess i just know what to do in the future. Has anyone else had what im having where it says connection has been lost? And its not because they leave because a guy i was playing when i got that win didnt quit but he turned off his system or whatever and disconnected and i was able to play the cpu. Anyone know what this is?

Alright, so I just won the Superbowl XLIV (2009 season) with my Vikings franchise! I defeated the Steelers 14-0. Darren Sharper was MVP, due to his clutch INT. for a TD. And, I gotta say...the Super Bowl sucks in this game. The stadium (Dolphins Stadium) look great, but the pre-game thing was the same, halftime was the same...it just didn't feel like a big game. Especially the SHITTY celebration when you win. (Here's a video of what it looks like: But, whatever...atleast I won! I just BARELY made the playoffs too, with a record of 9-6-1. In order to make it, the Giants or Chargers had to loose their final game, and sure enough the Giants did. I beat the Bucs in the wildcard, then went on the become NFC Champs by beating the Rams, and finally I won the Super Bowl!
Oh, and who else has had MAJOR problems with this game...such as freezing? I've had it happen twice already. Once when I was ending in to the off-season, and then just now as I was in the menus. This game is great, but they've really  ed up a lot of basic stuff with the disc, and it pisses me off. Well, anyway I'm headed into the 2010 season next. I'm at week 1 of the pre-season atm. I've made some decent roster changes too. Booty is still my QB, but I signed Troy Smith, and released Daunte Culpepper and Tarvaris Jackson. I still have Moss, Berrian, and Rice. I released Wade, and drafted Darrius Heyward-Bey. I still got most of my def., but I signed a couple backups, and a CB. (I can't remember his name atm). And at RB I still have AP, I resigned Taylor, and just now I did release my third RB (Maurice Hicks) to sign Shaun Alexander, but that's when my Xbox froze, and I hadn't saved. |

Madden 09 definitely gets props for taking many steps forward this year. Player models look good as do the stadiums. The Lambeau Leap looks really gay because of the ****ty crowd though. Passing is great, because so many cheese throws like outs to the left and wheel routes to the HB can be INT'd so easy now. It's awesome. Running is realistic too, because like the real game you have about 1-2 seconds to find the correct gap and explode through it for a gain. My Madden IQ is about 566 right now and I still get decent running if I commit to actually doing it. Playing with the Packers btw. My problems still with the game would be.. - Computer having wide open field ahead of them, then they run out of bounds
- WRs STILL running their routes out of bounds
- CPU QB's are still way too accurate. Completing at least 75-80% of throws every game.
- No ESPN involved in the presentation
- No CPU Sliders
Those are the major things, and everything else is pretty good. There are still things like the CPU being unstoppable with under 2 minutes to go, and other general errors, but it's stuff that should be fixed because it's so ongoing. Why is it that people don't realize what a successful running game is? "I'm only running for 4 yards a carry this game needs to be fixed!" No, that's called running in the NFL. |

I could've sworn I saw sliders somewhere. Either in the options on the main screen, or while setting up a game. Maybe not though.

Did anyone else's stats glitch in franchise? I'm in my third game in my second season, and the announcers think every Quarter back has 25 TD's already, and receivers already have 60 receptions. I have to say though, this is the best football game in a long time, and I just about didn't buy it =[

I was in the second game of the season and the announcer said my quarterback had just passed the 4000 yard passing mark for the season. I think it was supposed to be 400.

Yeah, I just played my first game in my third season the other day, against the Jets, and they said Jerricho had his like 60th receptions. Also, Madden/the announcers will say 'They're down by two scores', meaning the team I'm playing against, yet I'd only be up by a field goal...

Yeah, there's a bunch of commentator glitches. Like when you get a first down they sometimes say, "That play was run for a loss."

I had it happen yesterday as well. I called a play action pass on 2nd down that went for 33 yards over the middle. The announcer says something along the lines of, "That run play just didn't work for them!"
Yeah, it was a pass dude.

Virtually I can never scramble out of pocket on ps2 because then the defense always pass commits and it lags...gay
However...I'd have to say the Falcons running game is nice on here.
I still stick to my Rams, though.
Nasty to have Jackson and Pittman, but having a FB like Leonard for dives.

. I was playing in franchise, up 21 to 7, and there were like 15 seconds left and I had 2 timeouts. I prefer to just go for it in those situations, so I run, pass, and have 3 seconds and no timeouts at about the 5. Then I just do a simple pass, it was in my receivers hands, I had the TD. Then boom, the ing power goes out! |
