That sucks. The only time the game froze on me where it really sucked was when I was just playing the Running Back Challenge Mini Game, and I was done and had over 60000 points, and it froze when it was doing the ring points.
Also, has anyone else end up playing someone Online where it's like they've never even watched a game of football before? I was playing this one jackoff yesterday who did the same play over and over and over again, until he kept getting first downs. Then after every TD he'd go for 2 points. Not to mention that he didn't pass once and only ran the ball the whole time. He also waited until the play clock was down to one second left to do anything. Also, people run their QBs way too much, not to mention how often people go for it on 4th and long. It's just so frustrating...

I started the Madden league here cause I wanted games against people who are cool to play with. Apparently that's not possible, even on here. On a better note, in my Franchise, my team is 5-3 and my QB's gonna win the MVP award and my top receiver Ward is top of just about every receiving category.

Okay, so today I tried the Madden Challenges, really, for the first time. I did all the ones that are unlocked from the start, then stopped. They're pretty fun. Good feature.
Oh, and also for the first time I imported my fantasy football team onto Madden. My brother also did it on his xbox, so I put mine on his as well, and we spectated a game with them (full 15 minute quarters) Was very fun to watch. We got really into it. My team won the game like 49-27 or something.
Then, we did a rematch, and I was winning by like two scores, until his team made a comeback. His team surprisingly made a comeback, and it went to OT. They won the coin toss. My team kicks off, his guy runs it back like 20 yards, and fumbles! One of my players picks it up, and runs it back for the winning TD! It was insane.

Well since you don't follow American Football, roster updates won't be a concern, as you don't know the players. So, normally I'd say yeah, just get 08 or 07. But this years...is just such a better game. But, I do understand you not wanting to dish out the cash for a game about something you are un-familiar with. As for understanding the game, I'd say yeah, by playing it you'll be able to learn the jist of it. When I was a lot younger, playing sport video games helped me understand a lot of rules, a lot better. But, it probably wouldn't hurt to learn up on the basics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football#Rules

Reading the rules probably won't help many people. I'd think it'd be better to just watch an actual game and see the rules in action.

Like, I was just dicking around on rookie to get used to the game. Can't run for shit. Missing all kinds of tackles. ing CPU QB completes like 90% of his passes. Luckily my sister got it for me as a gift, but I'm prob just return it. Madden 08 is still fun for me, and I probably need to keep time open for school anyways.

The running is more realistic now, just be a bit more patient, though the CPU's completion percentage is indeed bull, I play Rex Grossman and he has like a 90% completion percentage.

Yeah, I'm willing to mess with the running a bit more. Luckily I was able to bust off like one ~53 yard TD, but I ended up finishing with like 103 yards on 19 carries. Eh.
And with passing, I've never been too great with manually defending the pass, so I dunno.

My madden IQ puts me on all madden or close to it on everything except pass defense which is ridiculous.

A few things..
I tried 10 min quarters and they are too long for the stats to be accurate. I am going to lower it to 8 and see how that goes.
Madden IQ works well except rushing is a bit too hard so I have the slider at 3 and the rest I just copy what my IQ says.

Just bought it. Man this is awesome! Rashard Mendenhall* from the Steelers is a great running back in that game!

It looks like people are using 7 or 8 minutes for their game length. I find that 1 min of madden time is about 2 min of real time. So a 7 min game should last about 56 min and an 8 min game should last 1 hour 4 min. I am at 7 now but I may switch to 8 just to boost my stats a bit. I like to keep my games around an hour. I tried a 15 min game and it took about 2 hrs and the stats were crazy large.
