It's easy to stop the run on Madden 09, I play on All Pro and I don't have much trouble stopping it.

I hold every team I play to like 20 yards of rushing on all madden except the chargers, they made LT too god like, he just runs through half my defense.

I have trouble holding AP or LT. Any power back is hard if you aren't using MLB's aswell.

I had a very frustrating game this morning. Cowboys vs. Giants (me). Seemed equal enough. Game starts, I drive up to his 20 yrd line, and throw a pick on a Play Action. Alright. He drives all the way up to my one yard line, where I hold him on 3 consecutive goal line blitzes, He kicks a FG. 3-0 him. I fail to manifest a score on my next drive, and punt it away. Second Q now. He drives, but I pick it at my 20 yard line, and run it back for a TD. I'm up 7-3. His next drive ends in a failed fourth down conversion (he went 1-6 on these ). I drive up to my 15 yard line, and kick a FG to end the half. 10-3 me. Skip to the ending. I have the ball with 40 seconds left, 4th and 4, I'm up 24-21. I throw a pick (my downfall in most games), but knock him out of bounds with like 34 seconds left. He tries to drive, but he throws a pick to me with 20 seconds left. Great, I'm finally gonna win. He has one timeout left, so I run an inside handoff, he uses his timeout. QB Kneel. He encroaches for a penalty. I'm thinking...what the is he doing? He better not try to stop me from winning by simply doing this bullcrappenalty stuff. Next play, he blatantly runs his MLB to my side of the field, before the snap. I kneel, penalty called on him. 3 seconds later, he quits. I am so ING pissed at this type of behavior online. Sure, I used to quit when I first started, but I realized every game is a learning experience, and you should play to play football, not for the record (2-18, should be 7-18 because of quitters). I send him a nasty message, in short, calling him a **** for quitting like that. He replies saying "to many peoplle did it to me it sucks"- his exact words. What a homosexual. How redundant is that type of thinking? It is so frustrating when people act like this. Another thing to add, I was playing the Cards on SUnday (before the actual game). I injure Warner in the 3rd quarter ( ;D). So I'm up 28-16, and the guy requests a friendly quit. I accepted it, because regardless, he was gonna quit. Such a frustrating game.

Yes you can, and the only runningback I had a hard time with was Frank Gore. Ive stopped everyone else.

Actually, I rented it and you can. You have to have a surplus at a position though. So, you need 6 other WR and then remove Hester from the top 6, and you can change his position.

I think they were trying to say that you can't just sub a RB in as WB or whatever. Which is stupid.

I think they were trying to say that you can't just sub a RB in as WB or whatever. Which is stupid. Actually, in some formations you can put the WR as the halfback, it will always be the #1 receiver though. I know you can in singleback ace and goal line. This works great for me- run a bunch of inside plays with Ricky Williams or Ronnie Brown from goal line (HB Dive, FB Dive, etc). Then when the other person gets wise to it and starts blitzing everyone on the inside, I put Ted Ginn in (press L1 or R1 to make it say WR HB) and then I do a counter. It works wonderfully most of the time. Or I'll do that inside run thing and then I'll just throw in a playaction when he decides to blitz.

Yeah, I know that, but I sorta meant like any position anywhere. Like putting your LB as a TE or something.

Ah. You can do that if you edit a player's information, but you can't keep it that for online.
Hey, btw do you know any formations where you can sub the TE out and put in a WR in his spot?

Did we ever go through with a 360 league?

Did we ever go through with a 360 league? There was one made but it died pretty quickly. Also, apparently Asante Samuel plays for the Ravens now. I just played a game against them and he had four interceptions, three of which ended in a touchdown, and one of those happened in their (the Ravens') end zone.
