I just got XBL, and I tried Madden online. My god.
I was the Saints, and he was the Vikings. He put Chester Taylor in at FB, he ALWAYS did no huddle, and when he scored a TD, he onside kicked it. He quit after I scored 2 TDs on him. Noobs.

Yeah, if you want to enjoy the game just avoid playing Online. Or at least that's what's worked for me.

One of the main reasons I got online with Madden was to get the roster updates.

Yeah, I always have to join a quick game and leave before it starts to get the roster updates...is there not another way to get them?

So Madden was one of the games I received for Christmas and I must say it is pretty decent and there are plenty of things that are realistic. But I have come to accept that the running game is indeed hard as hell. But I guess that has to do with my "skill" being on All-Madden.
I played 3 games as Dallas. Two againist the Eagles and one against the Redskins. All at home, just messing around and testing things out. And I think the most total rushing yards I had was about 30. It's pretty lame that on 3rd and goal I can't rely on Marion Barber of all people to pound it in for me. Instead, I can expect to lose at least 5 yards.
I'm still going to try to give the Madden IQ thing a try and see how it turns out. Because as I said, it does add some realistic elements. The commentary is refreshing and I liked the new collision system where guys don't just walk through each other all the time.
That rewind feature is a pain in the ass though. You don't want to use it but then its there so you do it anyway. So I think I'm going to disable that because, it just seems weird to me.

I got Madden 09 for X-Mas and almost immediately started a franchise as Baltimore. I'm already at week 8 with a record of 6-1. My only loss was at the hands of Pittsburgh, 21-27.
So far, Flacco's thrown 8 TDs against 4 INTs. Todd Heap and Le'Ron McClain are the leading receivers of the team since I like to dump the ball to the flats more often than anything.

I'd take it U Drive is one of your favorite plays. Well, I don't know the exact name of the plays but I just run a good amount of play-action passes and just throw it to McClain, Heap, or McGahee. That is unless Mason, Clayton, or Williams are open downfield. For example, when I played the Giants, Heap had 10 receptions on the day. As my season's been going on, I've been getting flushed out of the pocket more often, so throwing on the run is starting to become an unwilling member of my arsenal. However, I did throw some great on-the-run, desperation completions to Yamon Figurs and Derrick Mason in my games against Philly and Cincinnati. Right now, Flacco is 5th in the voting for league MVP, and is without a doubt the offensive ROTY. Also, I'm sure some of you have noticed this, but Bill Belichick isn't in the game. It just lists the coach as "NE Coach" and his knowledge ranking is 99.

Playing online is so addictive. If I do a regular franchise, I can only play one or 2 games a day. But online, I can play so many without getting bored.
The only thing I hate about online is that some people are...."too" good. I swear this one kid could throw into triple coverage and he would catch it for a first down.

No matter how bad I do rushing, they always have my rush skill at all madden it really bugs me

Well I've played some more games and I'm still not that great at rushing so I'm just not running much anymore. I can average 3 yards a carry which is ok but when I can only average 30 yards a game that is pretty sad. Then you look at the season stats and there are like 5 guys averaging 6 yds a carry. I've never had this much trouble running. But I've found that if I put Barber at the FB position I can get at least 4 yards almost every time. So now all I do is put either Jones or Barber at that position if I want to run it. But passing the ball is different. I've never had an easier time getting T.O the ball which is odd because in past games I can just never get it too him. But right now he is leading in rec yards in the league. I've never had more "miracle plays" in my life. I will say that the CPU plays smarter football it seems. They always manage to get the open WR...though that can be a bit much at times but its alright. On 3rd down the computer is flawless almost always getting if not getting the 1st. One major up I've noticed is catching the ball out of bounds. There have been a lot of catches I've seen that are clearly out of bounds and they count. Even if you challenge it, the ruling stands. Apparently if you drag your feet you made it no matter what... In awesome news, I was able to pick up Shawn Merriman from the trading block for Gregg Ellis. I basically swapped draft picks with the CPU and it accepted. I didn't even use a 1st rounder to get him which I found interesting. I put him opposite Demarcus Ware .

I rounded out the regular season in my franchise today (I have no life). I beat the Jaguars in week 17, but they were able to hang on in the Wildcard weekend and now I'm facing them again in the Divisional playoffs.

Is there any way to put Brett Farve on the Jets my system is the PS2? Sorry if asked before Go to rosters, the player management, and go to NFL Greats,, he should be there under QB. Release him from that team, and he'll be a free agent, and go to free agents and put him on the Jets.
