I just got some new Sony speakers, and they are plugged in, batteries are installed, the red light is on, all that good stuff...but unfortunately, no sound is coming out. Does anyone know what I need to do?

I guess that was a joke, but I guess I'll just clear this all up anyway and say yes, the volume is up.

did you plug in the right place?
Modern motherboards/sound cards have a green hole for speakers (the speakers jack is green too).
Are they classic 2 speakers or 5.1 or 6.1?

Yeah, they are plugged in. I don't know what they are. They just say "SONY R SRS-A27 ACTIVE SPEAKER SYSTEM" well. i don't know what else to say. sorry Oh. Oh well, it's ok, thanks anyway, though.

It could be a case of faulty manufacturing. I'd return them to the place you purchased them at and ask them to either test them out and make sure they're working for you, or give you a refund.

play some music on your computer and try plugging it into either the 1st or 3rd audio jack on your sound card, it might just be in the wrong place
