So i just about a brand new Belkin Wireless G Router. I installed it according to the directions and everything. The problem is that it loses connectivity. With my regular cable modem, it rarely ever loose connectivity and is always really strong, but for some reason now that its hooked into this router it goes off and on. Any tips on how I can fix this problem without having to take it back?

Shouldve went with a wired router. Wireless isnt really all that great, as you can see. If I were you, I would take it back.

maybe it is just the router itself. Don't see why it could be anything to do with your computer.

try unplugging the modem, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in. if that does not work, try to reboot the router the same way. If you have not rebooted your PC I'd try that as well. You kind of have to let everyone get to know each other.
Another option is to go the the router mfg. www and see if the device has a new driver. Usually the one in the box is old.
I just remembered!!! You have a G router. Does this drop off seem to happen when someone uses the phone? If you have a 5.8 gHz cordless phone in your house, it may be conflicting with your router. They both share the same frequency so when the phone is being used, the computers that are connected wirelessly to your network will cut out. It should not effect the PC that is connected with a network cable. Get a 2.4 gHz phone and the problem will be solved.
I have a wireless network at my house. It's great! No wires and easy accessibility.
Good luck. PM me if you need more help.
