Hi,
As stated, im from the UK. We have a channel called the 'wrestling channel' over here that features a handful of indy promotions (dont ask me which one, i dont know as i dont have satellite tv).
Anyway, point is, ive been watching wrestling since the late 80's and have been very limited with what i have been able to see. Obviously wwf/e wcw and old ecw was available and due to being an open minded wrestling fan, i like all 3.
Now, i want to find something new, ive watched tna now and again, and i think its ok, but i want something more.
I dont mean this to turn in to a battle of opinion, but i do require as many opinions as possible.
I want to start watching (buying tapes of) a promotion that i can watch from the start. I want to be able to understand characters from the get go, who is who and what they develop in to. I like high flying with a bit of tech and a little bit of extreme.
I enjoy spots, characters, gimmicks, feuds, charisma and stables. I was a massive ECW fan back then, and i want something similar.
Ive tried CZW and i did like some of the matches i saw, which included people such as ruckus, mark and jay.B etc, but thought the violence aspect was crap (just my opinion). I was also advised on XPW... (never again).
I hope you can get an idea of what i am looking for and can help out, i dont mind where the company is based (providing i can understand interviews etc) and i dont mind if its a brand new promotion or an early 90's one.
Im just looking for a new promotion to obsess over and the name of the 1st recorded show.
bit of an in depth request that im sure didnt need to be as lengthy, but there we go.
